Is it time bv got some handicap traps, this could be the answer to the shortage, why have two reserves on the card when they cannot be used.
'JC' RESERVES DO NOT ATTEND THE TRACK FRIDAY AND SATURDAY EVENING.... DUE TO KENNELS BEING REQUIRED FOR TRIALS BEFORE RACING
ONLY THE WEDNESDAY AND SUNDAYS BAGS MEETINGS WHERE RESERVES MUST ATTEND....

THE ADVANCE CARDS FOR FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY ARE ALL AVAILABLE NOW IN THE BVOF RACE CARD SECTION.
THE MAIN THING IS NO RACES HAVE BEEN KNOCKED OFF AND HOPEFULLY WE WON'T SEE MANY VACANT TRAPS OVER THE NEXT FEW MONTHS DOWN AT THE ZOO...

is part of the problem bitches coming in season.its a common phenomina that when one breaks down it seems to affect a lot of others.plus there is the increase in injuries because of quicker going. the faster summer going has always increased various injuries.leading to a shortage on runners.

Injuries in the slop when it rains , injuries on quicker going , Christ we have no chance keeping them sound !!!
Used to have dogs run 60 0r 70 races with just the odd niggle , cant get 5 races together these days !!!

SO IS THE PROBLEM SAND TRACKS THESE DAYS
OR ARE GREYHOUNDS JUST NOT TOUGH AND DURABLE THESE DAYS ?

Track maintenance definitely needs to be addressed more as too much is taken for granted !!
The greyhounds welfare is Paramount and they are the most important , more research and investment needs to be top of the agenda but we all know this is not going to happen !!!
We all know injuries are part of our sport but surely more can be done to minimise them.
Dogs in my opinion are certainly not faster or even more fragile so there must be an underlying factor !!!
Nothing more disheartening for me is seeing any dogs get injured and I am sure it is one of the reasons as well as lack of investment and prize money that is driving owners and trainers out of our beloved sport !!

Untill figures are made available as to the number of dogs each trainer has, how many are ie race fit; inseason; injured or resting, people will continue to second guess, and the age old reason why these figures wont be given is because it will give ammunition to the antis. Personally I think it should be made available warts and all, then maybe we could identify the problem and maybe rectify it...

Can't understand why, racing office knew wed dinner that forest vanessa wouldn't be running . plenty of time to find a replacement.
