It's great to see a return to a 13 race meeting this coming Friday at the ZOO, but with 15 contract trainers now employed by the GRA at the track why oh why are we still seeing races with a trainer having 3 runners in them ?

I thought everything in the garden was rosy with the amount of dogs available to the ro, yet twenty two of the dogs on wednesday bags ran Sunday! No doubt some owners dogs havn`t had four runs last month..

We have a bitch who ran a week last Friday and others in the same grade will have had 2 runs since then.
I've given up trying to apply any logic to the grading at Belle Vue and it's clear that the clowns in the racing office have obviously done the same.

I know this is too simplistic but if all race meetings were graded with the care of the bags meetings, this would in the long run make it easy for the ro. The bases of each meeting could move on ie, Fridays card moved to the following Saturday, sat card becomes the bases of the following sunday and so on, I understand this cannot apply in every case but the majority of races I think it could be achieved... I will now head for the hills..

John - I think the problem is that the Grading of the BAGS meetings is achieved by confining the racing to exposed greyhounds and so the newcomers and other potential time finders have to be accommodated in the non-BAGS meetings which makes for a much more dificult task for the Racing Office. Before I join you in heading for the hills can I say that if all Graded racing was Graded like the BAGS then that would just leave me with the Opens or possibly Bingo!! I remember Hove when it was 3-1 the field with unexposed runners hard in and it wasn't much fun and pups had a very hard time. CHESTER

I understand what you are saying, but regard the ro not wanting to accommodate newcomers, I had pups put on bags after two races much to my disgust. With a bit of thought I am sure they could spread the dogs out and maybe even have a few top graded races on the bags, other tracks seem able to do this. Maybe we still have a shortage of dogs. Its not a easy job the racing office have but its their job, and with the track running as it is at the moment its stick a pin in time.(ok if a stayers in lump on)

Is there to many trainers on belle view. As both of my dogs aren't getting a run this week. And it's not the first time this has happened lately.

'IF' there are too many trainers and of course no shortage of greyhounds down at the ZOO at this time? the simple solution would be to introduce another weekly race meeting.
I'm sure if a meeting was staged on a Tuesday/Thursday on a regular basis then it would/could become popular with owners and trainer alike.
