Yes I was just about to post about my visit over to Bev & 'benny's' kennels on Monday and I must say I was very impressed - large beautiful place. I saw some of the greyhounds being walked and exercised or being fed. I should also say a word about the 40% as well. As a past 40% owner of Ballymac Bossman and Ballymac Maddy, I had free entry into the zoo (owner's pass), free racecard, free drink and in the instances where they won a trophy race, you get to keep the trophy too. Always a fun day or night out for a relatively small outlay. Yes it's true that in the event a dog gets sadly sidelined for more than a month, then we're due a 40% share of costs, although it's worth saying that often those aren't asked for either for extended periods of rehabilitation *or* towards their rehoming at the end of their racing life but even if it were, it's only 40% after all. I understand they have some dogs available now, others too young and/or waiting to be trialled. If anyone wanted to be a part of it, why not give it a go?! And in the disappointing (putting it mildly) event that Belle Vue were to close (not if the Belle Vue 100 have anything to do wit it! ) they will go to a Yorkshire track instead and the 40% would continue. Anyway thank you kindly to Bev, 'benny' and their staff, some of whom I met and had a chin-wag with. I very much appreciated your hospitality. Thank you all.

Congrats to you and yours 'benny'.
You're right, it can be a long-winded process getting pups ready to race. You know I'm a patient man so whenever the list goes up, I'll get back to you. Thanks.

THINGS ARE LOOKING VERY PROMISING AT BV. with that in mind, I shall get a few more race dogs.soooo the 40% will no doubt get a new lease of life.
the major stumbling block is the outrageous prices that Irish owners are looking for. unrealistic is not half the story.

well, we had four winners yesterday. now at the best times, I can tell you im a poor judge, but yesterday I just couldn't fancy any, [as shown by the prices.]so the reality is that dogs are getting hard to find at the zoo these days.

JUST had some young pups in of tyrur Davina. need running on of course.but what struck me was the mothers times compared to the latest. the track seems to have gone a lot faster these days. it's more consistent, even when wet, there used to be plenty of moans about the quality of the going. maybe the track managers have a lot to do with it.. the maintenance has improved enormously. it's probably down to Paul.and co.
