Hove stars tonight on RPGTV from 7.15pm
RACING POST Greyhound TV goes on air at 7.15pm this evening (Sky channel 212, Freesat 401 and streamed free at www.racingpost.com/greyhounds/tv.sd plus partner websites) featuring a 12-race card from Hove, nine of them opens. Tonight’s presenter is Darrell Williams and he will be joined by the Racing Post’s Phil Donaldson plus Pat Cooney from Bet365. There are four morning early price races from our featured bookmaking firms with the respective favourites being Your A Champ (9.06pm), Larrikin (9.24pm), Malbay Phanter (9.40pm) and Swift Signal (10.11pm). In addition to the live action this evening (Henlow was called off due to the weather), there will also be a preview of tomorrow’s Romford Coronation Cup and Coral on TV Maiden Trophy finals, another chance to see the feature on the Steve Morison and Grant Holt Racing Club night at Yarmouth recently plus studio discussion and archive footage of the various awards categories ahead of Sunday’s gala evening at London’s Lancaster Hotel.
Phil Donaldson's nap and next best tonight: Nap Jolly Bullseye (Hove 9.24) Kevin Hutton's dog has made a really bright start to his UK career, including chasing home Nishas Guitar in Henlow's Maiden Derby final. He put in a smooth trial at Hove last week when recording a fast calculated 29.76sec for 515m and a similar start from tonight's inside draw puts him in with a great chance in a cracking one-off contest in which fellow railers Benkaat Blue and Larrikin provide stiff opposition.
NB Diesel Elsie (Hove 9.40) Michael Fawsitt's bitch makes a rare Hove appearance but her recent form at Romford has seen her running well in defeat against some smart sorts, including the prolific Sequential. She has the red draw this evening over the trappy 475m trip, and her chances could be enhanced by trap two Markeys Dragon edging middle out of the traps. She could be well overpriced, with as big as 8-1 offered off-course.

HOVE 21-24 tonight
Stars of 2013
JOLLY BULLSEYE
bk d Hondo Black-Echo Lady Aug 10 Kevin Hutton....
A five-time winner in Ireland, he chased home the very useful Bush Bandit in the Tipp Cup consolation at Thurles in August and was then aimed at Henlow’s Maiden Derby on his arrival in Britain. Eyecatching in defeat in round one, he impressed in the semis and arguably ran even better when second, beaten threeparts by Nishas Guitar, in the final. Sauntered home at Sittingbourne on Sunday and should be competitive wherever he goes.

Crapper's Mo flies home as Wallis qualifies three
Mo now a non runner on Friday night
after being found to be lame.ROMFORD, one of the few southern tracks to survive the arctic conditions, staged the Three semi-finals of the £5,000 Coronation Cup on Friday night as well as the £750 to-the-winner Coral On TV Puppy Trophy. In the Coronation Cup, Harry Crapper's Bansha Mo, who dotted up in heat three, will surely be the one to beat judged on these semi-final performances.
Coronation Cup first semi-final: An incident-packed race saw market principles Seals Babe and Be Real both miss the break and, after first-bend crowding, never get back into it. Lanrigg Paddy set the pace but it was Mark Wallis's 20-1 chance Darian Chief that took charge from the fourth bend and, keeping on well, he beat the staying-on Mash Mad Snowy by 1 3/4L in 35.79sec.
Second semi-final: Another result in favour of the bookmakers with Gerry Ballentine's Rockview Sail (5-1) beating 14-1 chance Adageo Brae by two lengths in 35.59sec. The pair showed pace up and came off the second bend in their finishing positions. Rockview Sail was always in command and, following third bend bumping involving the chasing pack, the 1-2 was never in doubt.
Third semi-final: Harry Crapper's Bansha Mo made the first bend in front - game over! Harry Crapper's bitch, the 8-11 favourite, kicked on to open up a winning advantaqe before halfway and couldn't have been more impressive in beating Carden Twilight by 6 1/4L in a superb 35.26.
Draw for next Friday's final (Live on RPGTV). 1 Bansha Mo, 2 Carden Twilight, 3 Darian Chief, 4 Rockview Sail, 5 Adageo Brae (m), 6 Mash Mad Snowy (w).
The Coral On TV Puppy final was won by Rio Minstrel who was sent off the 7-4 favourite. Danny Riordan's May 11 Black Shaw whelp cracked out and comfortably made all to beat Seamus Cahill's Droopys Felton, who stayed on well, by 1 3/4L in 24.30sec.

Mark Wallis amongst the TV winners at Hove BY DAVE JOHNSTON10:24PM 24 JAN 2013 Mark Wallis: Landed a double at Hove on Thursday night FOLLOWING the cancellation of the Henlow programme,Hove were flying solo on RPGTV this Thursday night and produced a card consisting of three graded contests and no less than nine open races. Highlight of the night was seeing Ken Tester's Your A Champ complete a Thursday five-timer when justifying odds of 4-7 in the 285-metre Sprint at 9.06. Once again it was a phenomenal change of gear on the run to the first bend that saw her surge clear and comfortably beat Pams Tomjo by 1 1/4L in 16.34sec. First of the opens was a 515m Puppy contest where Mark Wallis's Ard To Beat (7-2) overpowered the odds-on Droopys Felton for a comprehensive 2 3/4L success in 30.06sec. Derek Knight's Maireads Dandy (7-4) impressed when outstaying Swords Messi in a 515m Standard - scoring by 4 3/4L in 29.96sec. Wayne Wrighting's Boltatwelldigger (4-5F) got favourite backers back on track when landing a 515m Maiden in all-the-way fashion and clocking 30.26sec. There was a thrilling finish to the 515m contest at 9.24 when Mark Wallis's Benkaat Blue (7-2) got up on the line to mug both Larrikin and Jolly Bullseye in 30.30sec. Paul Donovan's versatile Roses Rockin (9-4) made all of the running to land the sole 475-metee contest in a time of 28.04sec. Wayne Wrighting recorded his second open success of the night when his Glasheen Eden (6-4F) went trap to line in a second 515m Maiden and stop the watch in 30.27sec. The 695-metre Stayer, as expected, went to Maria Collins' Swift Signal (2-5F) who was always doing enough to beat Brinkleys Sky by three lengths in 41.93sec while Seamus Cahill's Caesars Dandy (5-1) made all of the running to land the lucky last.

The semi-finals and final will switch to the traditional
Saturday morning Bags slot on Saturday 9th and 16th respectively.
Stunning Jacket 'trial' from from Paulines Pride Diane Henry: her Lord Vanquish won well at Crayford THE build-up to the years first Category One competition - the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket - is fast gathering momentum and Saturday night saw Crayfordstage three Trial Stakes (714m) for the event which gets under way proper on February 2. Heats of the £15,000 event will be seen live on the RPGTV channel that evening although the semi-finals and final will switch to the traditional Saturday morning Bags slot on Saturday 9th and 16th respectively. Familiar faces were on view this week with the top heat being the 9.56 for which Paulines Pride produced a stunning performance. Breaking well and leading round, Darren Whitton's black streaked clear and kept up a relentless pace to record a 13 1/2L success in a flying 46.02sec. There was a thrilling finish to the second of the three Trials which went off at 9.06. Peggys Style, a well-supported favourite, had set the pace but was under pressure from the penultimate bend with Lottes Girl, Oneco Beauty, Portavoe Lass and Buglys Billie all queueing up and all four eventually staying on past the flagging jolly. Heather Dimmock's Lottes Girl, who got first run, kept on gamely to score by 1/2L in 46.58sec Earlier, Julie Luckhurst's Crossfield Mia (6-1) had set the bar when taking the opening Stake at 8.02. Showing good early pace and then rallying to regain the lead on the final two bends, she stayed on well to score in 47.05sec.
Fans of eight-bend contests were in clover as Crayford also put on three Maiden contests over this eight-bend trip with Ian Aylward's Glin Hawk (7-1) taking the opener in 47.79sec. Diane Henry's Lord Vanquish (7-4) dominated the second of the Maiden's - making all in 46.38sec while Julie Luckhurst was back on the scoresheet when Jolly Hi (9-4) mugged Airforce Frankie to take the third Maiden in 47.07sec.

ANOTHER fantastic night’s viewing is in store on RPGTV this evening with Romford’s £5,000 Coronation Cup Final taking centre-stage' Sadly, Harry Crapper’s BanshaMo had to be withdrawn earlier in the week but it offers Gerry Ballentine’s Rockview Sail, a beaten 4-7 jolly in last year’s final when knocked-over, an improved chance of serious compensation.
