It was great to get back to winning ways last night over in Yorkshire.

Kilmalady Fox has been running well without winning, sometimes you have to take the rough with the smooth in this game. The FOX is a very genuine greyhound and like in all races you need luck in running, last night everything went his way and we were all delighted to be there and of course roar him home.

This coming Friday Kilmalady Fox is being stepped up in distance to 400m down at Romford, it looks a hard race on paper but I'm sure he will give a good account of himself.

I'm afraid I won't be able to go down to Essex on Friday because our rugby team the Salford City Reds are playing Warrington Wolves and nothing comes before my Rugby League these days, but that's the beauty of mobile phones / Text messages these days your never out of touch.

Here's hoping for another win on Friday and thanks again for your kinds words Norma.

THE UPS AND DOWNS OF GREYHOUND RACING

It's always disappointing when your greyhound runs below-par, but it's even worse when they return to the paddock lame.

Sadly last night Kilmalady Fox finished lame and now faces a two to three month lay-off.

I can't thank Team McCombe enough for what they did last night for our 'Barney' after the race. They went straight to the vets and they did not return back to base until after midnight'

It's too early yet to know if Kilmalady Fox will ever return to the track but I know one thing every effort will be made to try and get him back racing as as possible.

We've been here before over the years in greyhound racing it's never easy when your greyhounds goes wrong, but
you learn to cope with these things and you just have to take it on the chin and try to stay positive at all times.

KILMALADY FOX has responded really well to daily treatment and hopefully in the next couple of weeks he will be back in light work.

With a little bit of luck he could be back on the track towards the end of June.

'TEAM McCOMBE' has done a great job in nursing him back after his recent set back and I have every confidence in them in getting 'Barney' back racing.

WELL tonight's the night.

Kilmalady Fox is set to trial before racing this evening at Belle Vue over the 260m trip.

Hopefully he will go well and get back into action in the next couple of weeks.
