Elaine Parker: continues in great form at Sheffield Parker qualifies all four for the Sheffield final
AT Sheffield, Elaine Parker, who had three runners in the track’s last Bags/SIS 500 sweepstake competition final back in September, surpassed those achievements on Monday lunchtime when getting all four of her runners into next week’s £500 decider.
Parker opened her account with a one-two in the first eliminator when her Devils Demon came from the proverbial mile off the pace to win a shade cosily, seeing off kennelmate Tyrur Tango by almost two lengths in 29.82sec.
The winner, headlined by Pricewise at 14-1 and supported into 11-2, was the fastest qualifier and, being the only railer, has a fantastic make-up in the final.
Heat two saw her Mill Riley, who competed in that last final for Parker, take the plaudits when beating Broomhill Zoomy by a shade over a length in 30.00sec.
The kennel had to play second fiddle in heat three when their Slaneyside Stan scrambled into the final behind Norman Melbourne’s all-the-way winner Green Flash, who recorded 29.84sec.
Draw for Monday’s final:
1 Devils Demon, 2 Slaneyside Stan (m), 3 Tyrur Tango (m), 4 Broomhill Zoomy (w), 5 Mill Riley (w), 6 Green Flash (w).
