Latest News - GBGB encourages attendance at September Track Preparation seminars 17/07/2013
Two Track Seminars have been scheduled in September at Romford and Kinsley stadia. The sessions, organised by the GBGB’s Track Sub-Committee, welcome a variety of speakers to provide advice and instruction on track preparation and provide an opportunity to share best practice on maintenance during the winter and summer months.
While ground staff at all GBGB-licensed tracks are strongly encouraged to attend, the sessions are also open to all track staff, track vets and Stipendiary Stewards.
The 2013 seminars are scheduled for 16th September at Romford and 17th September at Kinsley and run from 11am to 3pm with lunch and refreshments provided.
Bill Glass, GBGB Track Sub-committee Chairman said:
“Track preparation and safety is a fundamental part of our overall welfare strategy and ensuring those working at track level receive regular refresher training and access to the latest information and research is crucial.
“We held the first seminar nine years ago now and it quickly showed that as well as the contributions from the speakers and demontrators, they also provide the only opportunity for track staff from far and wide to meet and to share expertise, which is great. It also provides us with an opportunity to demonstrate the latest track preparation equipment and this year we look forward to welcoming representatives of BLEC Global Ltd, manufacturers of track preparation machinery. “We hope to see the vast majority, if not all GBGB-licensed tracks represented.”
