Let's all hope the GRA / Belle Vue Stadium follow suit a.s.a.p...... One week and its sorted. Their sister track has proved that it is 100% risk free and would sort many issues. Agree with you Jimmy.

The gra/ racing office team wouldn't do this as it costs too much and only care about the finances sadly!

By rights what should happen throughout the greyhound industry is that all tracks should be made by the GBGB to have there racing sufaces in the best possible condition at all times.
Even more so stadiums that are awarded BAGS contracts should spend some of the money on the most important thing and in my opinion that is the racing surface.

Sunderland set to relay track
SUNDERLAND'S meeting tonight is the last on the old running surface which is to be completely replaced over the next five days in a £250,000 project jointly financed by stadium owners William Hill and British Greyhound Racing Fund.
"The contractors, Sports Stadium Specialists, have been working for the past couple of weeks installing drains to the infield and building a water tank so we can rapidly fill the bowsers," explained Hill's director of stadia Joe O'Donnell yesterday.
"They will rip the old surface up on Sunday, install drains on the track Monday and we hope to have a new track down by Wednesday. We'll be back up and running for next Friday's meeting."
Sunderland's Bags fixtures mid-week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday have been transferred.
