Wmbledon: "a great start" for new off course jackpot and placepot
Totepool pleased with initial off-course totals
BRENT DOLAN, director of operations at Totepool, on Wednesday deemed Tuesday’s first attempt at offering off-course pool bets on greyhound racing – via the Wimbledon Sky card – as “a great start”.
Dolan said: “We’re very pleased, liquidity was higher than we expected. The Wimbledon betting turnover through Totepool was close to £50k.
“We offered a £10,000 guaranteed pool on both the jackpot and placepot (last six Sky races on both), and took £7,100 in the jackpot, which was not won and rolls over to Yarmouth next week. We were marginally short of £10,000 in the placepot, the dividend paid £228.10.”
By comparison, the separate on-course Wimbledon jackpot was not won and had just over £509 (after deduction), which was carried forward to the next meeting there.

DOES ANYONE KNOW, IF THE BETTING SHOPS ARE TAKING PLACEPOT BETS FOR TONIGHTS MEETING AT YARMOUTH, THE STAFF IN THE SHOPS KNOW NOTHING, I.E. NOTHING. THERES A LIGHT ON BUT THERES NOBODY AT HOME. CHEERS. Monmore: off-course placepot/jackpot on Good Friday's last six races Sky jackpot guarantees £20K pool at Yarmouth
TOTEPOOL is offering a £20k guaranteed jackpot on Yarmouth Wednesday night, covering the last six Sky races (8.04-9.19pm). There is also a placepot on the same races, with a £10k guaranteed pool. All guarantees are before deductions.
The pools successfully launched on Wimbledon last week, when the jackpot rolled over. However, there was some confusion in the shops as staff grappled with the unfamiliar concept.
Totepool yesterday confirmed the pools are available at most major high street and online bookmakers. In the shops punters use existing horseracing mark sense cards; the meeting code is Sky dogs.
Totepool on their internet site offer a ten per cent cashback on Sky jackpot and placepot bets. Win, place, exacta and trifecta pools are also available on Yarmouth.
Romford Bags placepot
Totepool has confirmed a Romford Bags placepot for Thursday afternoon on the first six races – 2.08-3.48 – with a £10k guarantee. A similar guarantee applies to Good Friday afternoon with a Monmore jackpot and placepot, but this will now run on the last six race, 4.18-5.47.
Swindon will have a placepot on the first six races – 2.08-3.48 at the same afternoon’s meeting.
