Paul was taken ill at the track tonight and was taken to hospital,Ive just spoken to him and he is a lot better now and is on his way home for a good nights rest. Some things in life are more important than dog racing, your health being one of them. I wish paul a very speedy recovery, and hope to see him back at full fitness very soon. Having just spoken to him I can tell you that he is very upset about his dogs being withdrawn tonight, they are all there kennelled at the track and ready to race..all it would of taken is for someone to jacket them up and wash them down after racing. Surely this isnt too much to ask for any trainer. I believe he informed the track that his wife was on her way to bring the dogs home after racing so it beggars belief that they are left in the kennels instead of racing. Crazy situation

I've just spoken to Paul and he's up and about back in the routine!! Although albeit still not in the best of form, it's good to hear he's ok. As for the dogs it is a crazy situation, but the track would not allow anyone other than a licensed member of Paul's kennels to prepare the dogs for their race, I know for a fact that other trainers were willing to assist, not sure if this is a GBGB rule or a GRA rule
