THE victory of BOOMTOWN KEN in the heats on Monday should perhaps not as come as the surprise it did and Tony Collett's dog is worth backing to follow up in the final of the Coral on TV Maiden Stayers over 575m at Romford tonight (9.24).
He began his career with a bang at the end of last year with a treble at home track Sittingbourne and, following a lay-off, had excuses for most of the defeats he suffered on returning to action.
His sectional was comparable with faster heat winner Cavan Dancer and he may be overpriced given he has claims of calling the shots if pinging out.
