Ladbrokes Scottish Derby was on RPGTV, but Sky now gets ten more slots Sky Sports dates for rest of year now confirmedTEN further dates have been added to the Sky Sports schedule for the second half 2013 meaning that the first year of the new arrangement whereby SIS produce the programmes on behalf of Bags will have seen a total of 22 broadcasts.
First of the new dates is Wednesday, August 7 when Hove will stage the Coral Sussex Cup final. It means the fixture is no longer in Glorious Goodwood week as has been traditional although the semi-finals plus heats of other supporting competitions still will be.
It is a case of back-to-back Coral programmes with Romford’s Champion Stakes taking centre stage the following week (August 13) with Sittingbourne’s Kent Derby/Grand National double-header now moving to a new October date (October 17).
One date remains open, on Wednesday, September 4, which is intended to feature the TV Trophy over a marathon distance at a Bags track to be confirmed, possibly as part of a double-header. That will be announced as soon as sponsorship details have been finalised.
Traditionally covered competitions to have missed out under the slimmed-down schedule include Wimbledon’s Puppy Derby, Belle Vue’s Laurels, the Henlow Derby, Doncaster’s Yorkshire St Leger and Yarmouth’s East Anglian Derby, although that was offered a date which unfortunately did not fit with the requirement to be run alongside the Eastern Festival at the neighbouring horseracing track in September.

I find it very disappointing the Belle Vue’s Laurels will not be covered by SKY this year.
But there's still a chance yet that this years TV Trophy may end up being staged at the ZOO [Fingers All Crossed] because this years comp will take place at a BAGS venue...

Friday 17 May 2013 Bookmakers’ Afternoon Greyhound Services (BAGS) has today announced a schedule for this year’s remaining Sky Sports greyhound fixtures.
BAGS, as programme commissioners, have worked closely with SIS, Sky schedulers and the GBGB in recent months to formulate coverage for the remaining five months of the year comprising of 10 fixtures.
The first of these will take place at Hove on Wednesday, August 7th with the Coral Sussex Cup, and the cameras will be in place the following week for the decider of the Champion Stakes at Romford on Tuesday the 13th.
There are two fixtures in September, one event yet to be confirmed, to take place on the 4th, followed by the Steel City Cup at Sheffield on Wednesday 11th.
The William Hill All England Festival at Newcastle will take centre stage on Tuesday, October 8th, followed by the Kent Derby and Grand National live from Sittingbourne on Thursday 17th.
There are also two live-on-Sky fixtures in November, the William Hill St Leger at Wimbledon on Tuesday, November 12th, and the Betfred Eclipse at Nottingham on Wednesday 20th.
In December, the cameras are back at Romford again for the final of the Coral Essex Vase at on Thursday, December 5th, and the final live Sky meeting of the year will be the William Hill Oaks broadcast from Wimbledon on Thursday, December 19th.
Commenting on the new schedule, BAGS chairman Tom Kelly said: “Following the success of the Sky fixtures in the first half of the year, we are really looking forward to Phase Two.
George Irvine, managing director of SIS Betting added: “The coverage will continue to be presented by Jonathan Hobbs and Tony Ennis, with commentary from Errol Blyth.

Sittingbourne's Kent Derby will feature on Sky in October Good news as top level events hold up well THE GBGB has published the confirmed Category One competition schedule for the remainder of 2013, with the total number of top level events during the whole year set to stand at a higher-than-anticipated 29.
That figure is five down on 2012, although a far bigger drop seemed likely at the start of the year when the open-race system was in danger of being paralysed due to uncertainty over the future of greyhound coverage on Sky Sports. The situation was eventually resolved when Bags brokered a deal with SIS to ensure its continuation.
Category One events that have not taken place this year are the Henlow Puppy Derby, which was used as a fill-in for a vacant Sky Sports slot in 2012, the Pall Mall at now closed Oxford and the Yorkshire St Leger at Doncaster, which will have Category Two status when it is staged in September.
