It's a automatic upgrade in any graded apart from A2 if the time isn't great however chasethejimmy your dog will be in A1 next race as it has won back to back A2's A few years back there were many case's that the grader allowed a greyhound to win 3 races in A2 grade before going into A1 company.
But those days I think they did it to save on prize-money
And further back in time at tracks like Hove they never had A1 races and if you had a dog racing in A4/A3 in would have been top class at any other venue around the Country sadly these days grades and graders have a different outlook when framing a race-card.
I Know you can't turn the clock back but I often wonder how some people these days would cope if there were no A9s - A1s and no plus and minus going allowances to guide them, because way back then you had to study even harder and a grader had to put a bit more thought into grading a race-card each week.
