I was told by a friend of a friend of one of the owners yesterday that "Barnet Fair" was again well fancied and their cash was down for the "Stewards Cup" but personally I would'nt have it on my mind today with a penalty and the useful claimer replaced even though it did me a favour last time. I've had a very small each way wager on "Racy" more for TV interest than anything else. I'm not getting my hopes up too much.
Away from Goodwood last weeks Morning Line featured a groom at Dandy Nicholls yard selecting her charge "Kuanyao" as a horse to watch for the future. He's running in the 2-30 at Thirsk today ridden by outside jockey Sam Hitchcott. If todays the day is anybodys guess but in 2010 it won 6 handicaps on the trot for P Makin and from a career high mark of 93 runs today off 67 after 4 unsighted runs for Dandy.
There's been a little nibble for it in the early markets but it's still widely available at 12/1. It's probably punters like myself who noted the grooms positive words and marked it down as one to keep an eye on and we all know Dandy's ability to rejuvinate other trainers cast offs. A quick eye on the market nearer race time may give a few clues to see if any sudden improvement is expected today and you can then make your own mind up.

"Kuanyao" went off an easy to back 14's and never showed. Should be dropped another 3lbs so a watching brief is advised until the market speaks in his favour.
That claimer I mentioned on my previous post is Connor Beasley and he's a jockey to follow riding out his claim. He actually rode the winner in the above race at 8/1! Before today his strike rate of 15.7% is much better than average. Backing all his runners to a £1 stake to date has returned a profit of £30 (25%), not bad eh.
"Racy" ran a blinder to finish 4th at 16's and land the e-way cash in the Stewards Cup. "Barnet Fair" found his penalty too hard to handle as I predicted.
