Good point jim but I am not talking of a bucket full of water just a measured amount should the dog want it. We know greyhounds are renown for the lack of water they take in, but in this day and age if god forbid something happened in a kennel prior to racing in this heat, they would have a field day....at least if water was available it could help everyone.especially the dog...

That's a very valid point and perhaps under the vet's supervision when a greyhound comes out of the kennels for his or her's race then a vet or a steward could allow a certain amount of water under these very warm conditions.
Of course we can go about about this subject for the rest of the day/week but as it stands under GBGB rules no liquid is allowed to be administered after the weigh-in / during kennelling..
Hopefully the powers that be {GBGB} with look into this matter and act on it for the welfare and best interest of our racing greyhounds at every track up and down the Country during this crazy hot spell we are sometimes enjoying and sometimes not as human beings.

Agree with your take on the rules, just thought it was a valid topic for discussion, having said that I don't think either the paddock staff our the vets would not look after the welfare of dogs kennelled at BV ..
