TAKEN FROM THE RACINGPOST.COMNewcastle now plan to introduce graded sprintsNEWCASTLE is about to introduce sprinting into the graded programme at The Fossway.
Racecourse operations manager Ian Walton has been approached about giving two-bend racing a try and he has now agreed to run a trial to see just how much appeal that it has.
He says: βSome of our trainers have been talking to me about putting on graded races over two bends as they have some greyhounds in their kennels that are struggling a bit to really see out the 480 metres at the track."

AT UP IN THE NORTH EAST THERE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT.....
IN MY OPINION ALLL TRACKS SHOULD WHEN POSSIBLE RUN GRADED RACES OVER EVERY DISTANCE THAT IS AVAILABLE TO THEM.
YOU CAN'T BEAT A RACE-CARD FULL OF VARIETY...
