First of all, the bitch was carried off after she was knocked over. I hope that the injury wasn't as serious as it looked.
I like you have not been impressed with the treatment of this kennel's dogs in recent weeks. However, as far as I could see last night's incident was purely the sort of incident which sometimes happens in dog racing. |

Poppy was PUT TO SLEEP this morning by Mike Guilliard. She had multiple fractures of her shoulder and a massive heamatoma. I am GUTTED. She was a shy little thing till you got to know her, then she got all cocky.
We will all miss her terribly at home. It just seems that every time we attend Belle Vue lately we are coming home with dogs with broken legs. Westmead Sheba last week.

Always sad to read about the loss of a racing greyhound here on the forum.
We all know greyhounds don't run in lanes and from time to time they get knocked about, but of course it's when something happens like this did last night to 'Poppy' that leaves a bad taste.
Some will say it's part and parcel to racing and that may well be but the fact remains another greyhound has been injured and this time we won't be seeing it race again.

Commiseration's. It looked a nasty injury at the time. The kennel are having a streak of bad luck. I bet you are glad when you cut your links with Belle Vue. Hopefully, your luck will then change.

Sorry to here about Poppy and why haven't the RO realised that the shortage of dogs are down to there poor grading and box allocation that causing all theses injures are they trying to run the place into the ground if so I give you an A+
