After a long illness I finally plucked up the courage to have the best dog I have ever owned pts today, I had arranged it with mike guilliard to come to the house after he had finished at BV to make it as stress free to the bitch as possible.
1 1/2 hours previous to this I went into the bookies to watch one of her offspring post the fastest time of the day in only his 3rd ever race, the whole litter has been plagued by injuries and we lost two on Friday night to bad hock fractures ( one at pelawe grange trialling and one at BV trialling) they had both been reared in different parts of the world (irony).
She produced in her first litter1st and 3rd in the produce stakes ( we backed the wrong one, irony)iand had open winners in every litter since.
She was no mug herself on the track winning opens at walthamstow down to. BV .
She will be sadly missed by me and my family as the family pet Suzy and I would just like to say that it has been simply a pleasure owning a great dog and I hope through her offspring her name lives on

What a fantastic greyhound Simple Pleasure was both on and off the track.
Tony and his family will have some great memories to look back on.
I remember when she first came on the racing scene and I've always followed her off-springs with great interest.
May you now rest in peace 'Suzy'

Simple Pleasure was the reason I bought my own pup at 9 weeks old Antartica after being involved with she,s the star from her first mating to fear haribo.
Star was one of six litter members that made the produce stakes first round heats at Nottingham which attracted a real fuss from the racing post for the dams first litter. She lost a short head in a run off after dead heating in the semi,s but her litter brothers proudly finished first and third that year in the final.
Antartica has reached A1 and S1 at Belle Vue and also reached the semi final of the produce stakes at Swindon and is still competing after running 78 races.
Antartica is the second highest rated daughter of Fear Haribo and the second fastest offspring of Simple pleasure with a rating of 103.
Im already thinking of retiring her after she has completed the 80 run milestone and have always said she will proudly continue the bloodline of Simple Pleasure even more so of todays sad news.
Thanks tony and debs for the Simple Pleasure involvement
Mark

My commiserations you and your and your family, Tony. Its always a very sad time when we have to say goodbye to a family pet. However, they do continue to live in out memories.
As for Suzy's achievements as a brood these will live forever in the record books and hopefully we will see her progeny continuing to perform with distinction on the track and in the paddocks.
