Just thought I would up date the situation regardings Iago's injury lay off, as so many people ask about him. He last raced on the 21st of May in an S1, but unfortunately suffered a strained hock during the race which meant a lay off of around twelve weeks. His returning trial at the beginning of August proved a disaster, as bruising within his right thigh became evident two days later, left us to believe that he had damaged the gracilis muscle. First hopes was that it was only a small tear as the muscle had not dropped, and that the bruising went away within a few days. Lasering it brought out minimal bruising. But further lasering last night, almost two months on from the initial injury, still showed evident of bruising, meaning that the tear had yet not healed. At this moment with Iago turning four in October, the chances of a return to the Belle Vue card remains very remote indeed, which could mean that in the next few weeks I may be faced with no other choice than to retire him after being such an excellent servant to me.

just entered forum and read this. this is fantastic news, takes a little guilt away from when I had to let him go to the rehoming kennels. best greyhound I ever had and was reluctant to let him go , reason was already two hounds retired at home and to leave him in a kennel on his own at the back of my house was just not fair. i would love to keep in contact and share my memories of him with you. if you wish to contact me my name is tony on 07858 559450. many thanks for letting me know.

Hi Tony, I've saved your number. Will call you at weekend if that's OK, he's had a bit of a wobble in the last couple of days with his front right leg but we think it's just a sprain, going to the vets tomorrow. I'm sure he'll be fine and he's as greedy as normal 😊. I'll post a few pictures.
