BALIFF HAWK (prev Drive On King) and SURPRISE VOTE

Just thought I'd introduce myself as the adopter of Baliff Hawk (prev Drive On King) and Surprise Vote.

Baliff Hawk or 'Douglas' as he is known to us is a coming 6 year old blue and white male who has been with us since November 2015 and Surprise Vote 'Blu' has been with us since April this year after two(?) previous placements broke down. Both dogs are settled with us and are part of the family, they will not be moving on, Blu is very bonded to me and follows me everywhere at home and is good even off the lead. Douglas on the other hand is rather aloof and always on the lookout for small furries to chase  often leading Blu to distraction!

Great to read that are old racer SURPRISE VOTE has landed on his feet.

When he was racing he fell foul of the stewards and quite rightly because they had no other option under the rules.

But at that time i can't put into words how we felt in fact we were on the verge of packing the game in it was that upsetting.

After the initial shock 24 hours after we made the decision to retire him from racing and try and find him a forever home.

We had some crazy offers for him but we wanted to do right by the dog and no matter amount of money was going to change our minds.

Our trainer Ernie Upton wasted no time in searching for a home for us because he could see what state of mind we were in at that time.

So within 10 days a home was found. It was sad to read that he has been re-homed a couple of times but we all know this can happen from time to time.

But now you have him 'rcm73' well at least we know how well he's being cared for.

That's a lovely photo. He's very fast and sometimes when he runs with our other hound I can see how he could have fell foul of the stewards! He's quite a character but our other hound is the dominant dog and with firm boundaries and strong leadership he is absolutely great. I will try to upload some pictures of him.
