THANKS.i did read your ask on the main page, I also contacted my homing kennels, I let them have a few back ends of last year but all are homed. why such a youngster at 14 months we would only be starting them off, we have older ones but all are not for running of any type, as they have been retired from racing.so would have reoccurring injuries, so wouldn't be useful.

WELL.if we have another two months of this then I will have forgotten what the dogs are all about. but I watched the wapping assassin and it did reflect what greyhound racing was all about years ago. THE MONEY you made. now that doesn't happen. WHY we all run for the bookmakers really. they bm have got greyhound racing into such a position that everything is reliant on there say so.they pay the bags we know. but they also say what type of racing they want.NO gambling type kennels are put up- with.to such a level when an individual is having a good run. your bets are refused bet 365 are the main refusers. now your gonna get well I get on all right. yes, you will but you are not a persistent winner with them .showing a profit and withdrawing it.paddypower is going the same way. ambrose is a decent dog so as the -owner .he wants backing. so I did.result.paddy power won't take more than £20 of me. what I am now getting at is WEE NOW NEED fewer bags type racing and then the proper betting will return, then the punters will return, and the proper greyhound racing and owners will return. those on the wapping assassin are now a lost breed.lost forever as the bookmaking firms. not the trackside bookies are now in charge. and the racing is now in a sad decline. now, this is o m o.could I be wrong.

great post DAVE, sad but very true and for PADDY POWER to only take £20 a bet is a disgrace.

may be rumors on g scene of breakaway from gbgb would improve the state of thing`s, having said that you could relate it to flapping and we know what happened to those tracks, i don`t think you need punters on site these day`s its all down to streaming and betting on line, that`s where the money is for the firms, having said all that bv on a saturday night is jumping but the card is not as even as it could be, resulting in our on course bookies returning some very short fav`s, for greyhound`s to continue everyone has to make a bit, lets hope sooooo

I have also heard of the breakaway group. I don't have anything against a breakaway group. however, the ones in control even though some think they have done badly. the gbgb they have all the aces. the only thing that could happen would be a type of association. a few tracks together. THE BIG BUTT WOULD BE ONGOING FUNDING.tracks would have to support their basic requirements and to gain a regular profit wouldn't be very easy. however, things will need to change to bring back some longing and excitement because stadiums are worth more as building sites. and the greyhound game is not so popular with the young.its on its way out.also have the antis there lies convince many that they are right.its like a religion to some.and it does affect all trainers and the tracks.theres also the thinking that if as tracks struggling, just let it close. someone come up with the saying .WELL THERE WILL ONLY BE SIX TRACKS EVENTUALLY.so nobody in power tries very hard, waiting for the prophecy to come true.let us hope A R C can put the revival factor back into bv.and if they do even they will have a surprise at the crowds again.

reading your post dave about the young are u talking about owners or in general because theres still a lot of young people out there who still love it from a social element, getting the crowd through the turnstiles keeps these tracks going obviously with the hardcore as well but that cloud is still hanging over our head which is not good

not many young ones either buying dogs or for that training them.it's still, the old school who keeps the tracks wheels turning.
