There is no value in members falling out on this subject / topic.

The Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium has gone to the wall 'IF' there were any interest in Greyhound Racing coming back to the 'ZOO' it would have been sorted by now.

The sooner the bulldozers move in the better now in my eyes because when it's no more at least we can drive down Kirkmanshulme Lane and we don't after keep looking at an empty shell.

I miss the old place for sure but it's just like everything these days changes keep coming and not all of them fit well as you get older.

So let's all look forward to 2021 and in my the main keep safe but 'IF' you want to stay involved in greyhound racing then there are still a few tracks around. But let's face it nothing and i mean nothing will ever replace our old stadium THE 'ZOO'

FOBVS GROUP – FINAL STATEMENT 

It is with heavy heart that I am posting this final statement from FOBVS support group, given by our chair Simon Walmsley – today!

I add my sentiments to all below – thanking you one and all for your continued support during extremely trying times!

Finishing 2nd never looks good, even more so in this case! We gave it our best shot and have failed, with some of our group feeling a tad betrayed or let down in some quarters, but it is what it is – sadly!

Hello Alan,
I hope you are keeping safe and well. I received a formal letter from Crown Oil today rejecting the 6 figure sum put forward by FOBVS, the figure was backed by Startrax Motorsport and after many many months of searching for a greyhound promoter to partner the deal and submit a more significant sum, this did not materialize.

We are hugely disappointed that no one thought Belle Vue was worth investing in as a greyhound stadium and that the entire north west now does not participate in a sport that has its spiritual home here.

I would to thank yourself and everyone who help support our fight to save our beloved Zoo but the ACV will now fall away and all the powers that gave it to prevent it being demolished will go with it.

Best wishes to everyone who ever graced the stadium, stay safe and well.

Sad but not unexpected. Thanks to all those who tried. I suspect a tough task was made nigh on impossible by the pandemic.

January 14th 2000 was the day I started working at the stadium I was still in school at the time.
After working in the restaurant, kitchen ,fast food ,parader & racing off for the stadium and then changing to working with the dogs with Andy Heyes in October 2007 I can say I was a fun ride..

So happy 21st belle vue anniversary to me and the stadium!
