...MansionBet Announces Greyhound Sponsorship With ARC... Thursday 11th February 2021 www.arenaracingcompany.co.uk/media-centre/news/greyhounds/mansionbet-announces-greyhound-sponsorship-with-arc
Online sports betting operator, MansionBet, have today announced their partnership with Arena Racing Company (“ARC”), which will see their brand used exclusively at over 800 greyhound meetings in 2021.
The MansionBet branding will be displayed across all four ARC greyhound tracks, commencing with Newcastle’s meeting this evening on Sky Sports Racing, and continuing throughout 2021 at Newcastle, Sunderland, Perry Barr and Nottingham.
The sportsbook, which has focused heavily on increasing brand awareness through their horse racing sponsorships since 2019, today extends this relationship with ARC even further.
Dana Bocker, Head of Integrated Marketing, commented: “Having invested a lot of resource into radically improving our greyhound offering in 2020, and becoming a contributor to the British Greyhound Racing Fund, the decision to sponsor tracks across the UK is a natural step forward that will allow us to engage with an audience of one of our most popular markets. We look forward to engaging with our customers whilst supporting the sport through our sponsorships.”
David Leyden Dunbar, ARC’s Group Director of Partnerships, said: “We have enjoyed a strong relationship with MansionBet, with their brand seen prominently across a number of our racecourses since 2019 and are delighted to welcome them into our greyhound stadia for the first time. With live greyhound racing broadcast every evening on Sky Sports Racing, including from Newcastle and Nottingham, we hope that it will further enhance their brand recognition with greyhound racing fans.”
Rachel Corden, ARC’s Greyhound Operations Director, added: “We are very grateful to MansionBet for their support of our four stadia and really look forward to seeing their branding broadcast from Newcastle this evening and onwards. Their investment in their own greyhound offering and their support of the sport at this difficult time is much appreciated.”

ENTAIN AND ARENA RACING COMPANY SIGN GROUND-BREAKING MEDIA RIGHTS AND DISTRIBUTION DEAL FOR HORSE RACING AND GREYHOUND RACING Entain and Arena Racing Company (Arena Racing) today announce the signing of a ground-breaking long-term media rights deal that covers horse racing media rights and establishes a landmark joint venture between Entain and Arena Racing for greyhound racing, through to 31st December 2029.
This exciting long-term deal will deliver a compelling range of horse racing and greyhound racing product for Entain’s retail & digital channels, Ladbrokes & Coral, as well as for its digital brands – Betdaq, Bwin and Sportingbet, and will launch a joint venture between the two parties for the distribution of greyhound racing content from Entain, Arena Racing and Independent greyhound tracks.
Both horse and greyhound media rights will be produced and distributed to the UK independent bookmaking sector via The Racing Partnership (“TRP”) and into international markets such as Spain, produced and distributed by Arena Racing subsidiary, Vermantia.
Horse Racing Media Rights
The horse racing media rights element of the Entain / Arena Racing partnership covers all UK, race day data & audio-visual coverage for races from Arena Racing’s sixteen UK racecourses, which include Doncaster, Newcastle, Chepstow and Lingfield Park. The deal also includes South African & Australian content and will commence on 1st January 2022 and run through to 31st December 2029.
Greyhound Racing Joint Venture
The ground-breaking joint venture (JV) between Entain and Arena Racing will deliver a single optimised UK Greyhound Racing schedule. The JV will become the vehicle for licensing media rights to Entain & other domestic and international betting operators from these tracks. This joint venture will launch on 1st January 2024 through to 31st December 2029.
The JV will hold the long term exclusive rights to premium greyhound content from twelve stadia owned across Arena Racing (Newcastle, Nottingham, Perry Barr and Sunderland), independent stadia within Greyhound Media Group (“GMG”) (Kinsley, Sheffield, Swindon and Yarmouth) as well as those owned by Entain (Crayford, Hove, Monmore Green and Romford).
Adrian Bower, Entain Chief Procurement Officer said today: “We are delighted to be partnering with Arena Racing on such a comprehensive long-term deal that will give certainty to both parties for the benefit of both horse racing and greyhound racing, as well as helping them navigate the Covid challenges and emerge stronger when the world gets back to normal”
“This is a progressive deal for greyhound racing, that will deliver a sustainable programme going forward, support greyhound welfare, and deliver more money into the sport”
“This landmark deal supports Entain’s omni-channel strategy for its UK digital brands and emphasises the huge value we place on the horse racing and greyhound racing products. We have been looking for a long-term deal that delivers benefits to both parties, allowing us to focus on navigating the immediate challenge of Covid, while generating greater value for all. Ladbrokes and Coral are two of the biggest and longest standing investors in, and supporters of horse racing and greyhound racing, and this significant commercial deal with Arena Racing is just further proof of our support for these two great British sports”
Kevin Robertson, Managing Director of Arena Racing’s Media and International Division said today:
“This deal between Arena Racing and Entain represents a new era of collaboration between the horse and greyhound racing industries and their bookmaker customers.”
“We are delighted to have framed this deal to offer long term certainty for both our horse and greyhound racing, as we look to recover from what have been incredibly difficult times for both industries. Importantly, this deal recognises the value for both horse and greyhound racing being sold directly by rightsholders to their key bookmaker customers. We are delighted to be working in partnership with a significant global partner in Entain who operate historic and popular brands such as Ladbrokes and Coral, continuing their long association with both sports.”
“Both Arena Racing and Entain are committed to the future of greyhound racing, and under the new JV we will be able to sustain and re-invigorate a sport that has been through significant change over the years. The launch of evening greyhound racing on Sky Sports Racing in February is hopefully the first of many new initiatives to promote and enhance the sport”

...ARC Agrees To Acquire Cearnsport Ltd... Thursday 15th April 2021Arena Racing Company (“ARC”) can confirm that an agreement has been reached to acquire Cearnsport Limited, the owners of Central Park greyhound stadium and speedway track.
Upon completion of the acquisition, Central Park will join Newcastle, Nottingham, Sunderland and Perry Barr within the ARC group of Greyhound Stadia alongside sixteen racecourses, which include Doncaster, Newcastle, Chepstow and Royal Windsor.
Promoter at Central Park, Roger Cearns, will continue with the business through a transitional period ahead of the return of owners and spectators. In addition, Roger will maintain his links with the track via the Kent Kings Speedway team. ARC will continue to honour the ongoing media rights agreement between the stadium and SIS.
ARC Director of Media and Technology, Mark Kingston, said, “We are delighted to have reached agreement with Cearnsport Limited, and to welcome Central Park into the ARC group of venues.”
“As a well-respected and popular track, Central Park will really enhance the portfolio of greyhound racing that we host and reiterates our long-term commitment to the sport. We will, of course, fulfil any standing arrangements with regards the track’s media rights, but look forward to Central Park becoming a key part of our schedule going forward.
“We are incredibly grateful to Roger Cearns, whose knowledge and expertise will be hugely valuable to the business during an upcoming transitional period.”
Roger Cearns said, “I have, for some time now, thought that after 60 years connected to greyhound stadiums and 23 years at Central Park that the time is right for me to retire for younger people to take charge and to secure a sound future for Central Park, its trainers and employees.”
“Having closely investigated all possibilities I consider that ARC, who are acknowledged leaders in this field, operating over 20 venues, are the best option to achieve that. Racing at Central Park will continue as normal with the exciting Category One Grand National commencing soon.”
“I believe that being within the ARC group will give Central Park, it’s staff and trainers a secure and prosperous future and my best wishes go to them.”
This news follows the announcement of the establishment of a landmark joint venture between ARC and Entain, which will deliver a single, optimized UK greyhound racing schedule from 1 January 2024..........

...ARC ANNOUNCEMENT ON OPEN RACE ENTRIES... In view of recent events, Arena Racing Company (“ARC”) will introduce, as a condition of entry to open races at their stadia that, if a greyhound has not raced at that track before, it must have had a trial at the track in question prior to the date of the open race closing. A trial may also be required where a previous race or trial at the track in question was a considerable period of time ago.
Where a greyhound is entered with a seeding which does not reasonably reflect the comments allocated by the racing office, it will not be accepted without a further trial. This gives the racing office the opportunity to form an opinion first-hand on the seeding of the greyhound at their track.
This will be put in place across ARC’s four greyhound stadia for entries closing on 13 May 2021 onwards.
ARC Greyhound Operations Director, Rachel Corden said, “We all need to do what we can to minimize the risk of injuries. Any greyhound wanting to join a track’s graded racing strength has to trial on, under GBGB Rules of Racing, with at least two trials to the satisfaction of the racing managers. There is no such rule for open race entries.
“All tracks are unique, and in the interest of fairness to all greyhounds we don’t believe that any greyhound should be expected to perform in a race at a track unless it has had a trial at that track.
“The open race schedule is set out for the rest of the year so everyone knows when and where the open races are taking place, therefore trainers can plan ahead and request trials in a timely manner where required.
“We agree that the current seeding system needs reviewing and are pleased that the Greyhound Board have announced today that they will be conducting a seeding review. All stakeholders need to work together to achieve the best solution with welfare firmly being put at the forefront”.
