Salford Red Devils have completed another signing ahead of the 2025 season after securing a permanent deal for Joe Bullock. Rugby League Live can reveal that the Warrington Wolves forward will be returning to the club next season following a successful loan spell as part of Salford's ongoing plans to bolster their pack.

Bullock, who has been a long-term transfer target of Salford after trying to secure him over a year ago, only signed a new deal with Warrington earlier in the year, but he has now agreed to join Paul Rowley's squad for next year and beyond.

He becomes the third prop the Reds have signed in the off-season, with Rugby League Live also exclusively revealing the club have secured deals for Chris Hill and Justin Sangare from Huddersfield Giants and Leeds Rhinos respectively. Salford have no quota spots available but have now secured three middles to help replace the outgoing Gil Dudson, Adam Sidlow and Andrew Dixon.

Bullock, 31, has made 110 Super League appearances during his career. After impressing at Barrow Raiders he secured a move to Wigan Warriors before heading to the Wire in 2022. He made 51 appearances for the Wolves but saw himself down the pecking order this year, spending time on loan at Hull FC and Salford.

On joining the Red Devils, Hill has said: “I am really happy to join Salford and can’t wait to get going in pre-season.

“I’m looking forward to pulling on a red shirt next year and running out in front of a passionate set of supporters.”

Head Coach, Paul Rowley has added: “I am delighted that Chris is joining the Reds for the upcoming season.

“He is a consummate professional who plays to a consistently high level and will bring experience, leadership and quality to our forwards.

“I know Chris very well and aside from his playing qualities, he is a fantastic character that will fit into our group perfectly.”

We are delighted to announce a dual registration agreement with Betfred Championship side, Barrow Raiders.

This partnership allows us to send players for valuable playing opportunities in a competitive environment.

We have already seen glimmers of success through this pipeline, with the most recent example prop forward, Jamie Pye enjoying a successful stint towards the back end of 2024 before signing his first professional contract with the Red Devils.

The Cumbrian outfit is looking to improve on last season’s 11th-place finish and has already retained some key players, including former Red and Challenge Cup Final try-scorer, James Greenwood.

On the commencement of our agreement, Head Coach, Paul Rowley said: “On behalf of everybody at Salford, we are delighted to reunite with our friends at Barrow.

“We have a very trusting relationship and both clubs share the same family values of which we want our players to be a part of.”

Andy Gaffney, Director of Rugby at the Raiders has also stated: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to link up with Salford ahead of the new season.

“Paul Rowley is one of my greatest friends in the game, and someone who Paul Crarey and I have great admiration for, both from a professional and personal viewpoint.
