Givern that you now have a 50 50 chance of your dog running on the bags card at BV, will this have a long term effect on reducing the numbers of owners. The bags meetings are both afternoon sessions with little or no atmosphere taking away the chance of a night out with friends watching your dog run. I understand the amount of monies BV get from these meetings but will this be at the loss of owners who are restricted to watching their dogs run at the bookies. I understand the slack would took up by trainers owning more dogs but is this good longterm. On a personal note my dogs have been reduced to one now running on BV, not all down to bags, What are your thoughts on this??

I personally go to the night meets and the BAGS. It doesn't really bother me at the minute which. Sometimes a Friday and Saturday can be too busy for my liking. Like you say though, if there is a group of mates who want to go the BAGS are no good.

I have never been keen on BAGS meetings - no atmosphere, poor facilities, if you decide to attend, and basically not for me. Our dog has been running for the past three or four weeks on the Sunday meeting and she is not out this Friday or Saturday. I am not sure if i would pack it in if BAGS was the only option, but i can honestly say that i would be involved with more dogs if i could be promised my fair share of Friday or Saturday racing.

THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH ANY BAGS MEETINGS!
BUT IN SAYING THAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF ONE OF OUR BAGS FIXTURES WOULD HAVE BEEN AN EVENING AFFAIR.
IT LOOKS LIKE WERE STUCK WITH THE PRESENT WEEKLY FORMAT AT THE ZOO, BUT IF IT WERE TO CHANGE I WOULD LIKE TO SEE ANOTHER MEETING INTRODUCED SAY ON A TUESDAY EVENING.
GETTING BACK TO YOUR THREAD TITLED BAGS v OWNERSHIP 'JC' I MUST AGREE UNDER THE PRESENT FORMAT I CAN'T SEE ANY NEW OWNERS COMING INTO THE GAME AT BELLE VUE.
BUT ALSO ON ANOTHER NOTE 'JC' YOU HAVE RECENTLY MOVE TWO OF YOUR GREYHOUNDS TO ANOTHER BAGS VENUE [NOTTINGHAM], BUT OF COURSE THAT'S YOUR CHOICE AT THE END OF THE DAY.

Well I used to enjoy going in the evening, however when I went last Saturday I was called 'Scum' by one of the protestors outside ! So now I would prefer to go in the bookmakers and watch my girl without being hailed abuse at !!

That's disgusting 'Girlywirly'
You should have alerted the Belle Vue security staff and also if I was you I would get in touch with the Belle Vue General Manager Mr Mick Hardy on this matter.
What happened to you is not exceptable OK the people who protest outside the gates at the stadium are entitled to there own personal views and opinions but they have no right to chuck verbal abuse in your direction.

it would be an obvious good move to develop the sunday meeting.i dont know who controls the way meetings are conducted.i should think its a head office decision. whether the powers that be think that the advantage [for owners]of trying to make sundays a success would take to long and cost to much to implement before they got a return that would be a significant earner for the company.who are not paying there way as things are at the moment. so maybe to have your nights on fri sat the cost is more bags.it does add a significant amount of cash to bv coffers.and as such its considered a small aside to lose a few dogs off the strength.which is at the moment is very strong. alas if you dont like bags its hard luck.

One plus point for the bags is the opening prices, the same dogs on fri-sat would open a lot shorter plus one bet...wet rag.
