Tonight, showery with heavy rain before and during Race 5. Race 1 Grade A9 Time 28.99 The race was effectively over at traps when Thornton Tina, backed at 4/5, trapped fast and her market rival Tick Tock Ben, 4s to 3s, stumbled badly. Tina led to the first bend and then again between bends one and two after enjoying a solo and won decisively which, given the strength of the opposition, is not as flattering as you might think . Ben was beaten a distance. Race 2 Grade A8 Time 28.84 The Chimes of Doom sounded for supporters of Kersal Missy, 6/4 to 11/8, when her market rival outboxed her by a length. Missy doesn't get her hands dirty doing staying and so settled for second place. Race 4 Grade A5 Time 28.86 French Little, 7/2 to 5/2, trapped best and led to the first bend where she was crowded wide by the slow starting Highview Guest, 9/4 to 2s, who showed excellent early pace to get inside Little. Guest led to near the third bend before finishing third. Little finished last after being badly crowded at the third with Swift Leah, 5s to 9/2, who had turned in fifth place and didn't look like catching the principals when the trouble occurred. Race 5 Grade A4 Time 28.29 The merit of the performance from the two principals in the market is reflected in the winning distance between second and third which was 5 3/4L. The down graded Nite Runner, backed at 7/4, is much better class than these and looked to have an excellent chance of leading, a chance which improved astronomically when he trapped a length in front. He made all. Precious had yet to see Adamant Leo, 11/8 to 5/4, run but was very impressed with his performance. After a slow start he turned in third place following a solo at the bend and showed excellent pace to the third appearing to have a chance of making a real race of it until he moved off at the last bend. Race 6 Grade OR Time 35.56 Tambourine Man, 5/4 to 10/11, was crowded at the bend, turned in third place, was crowded at the third and then ran on well to finish second. Race 7 Grade A3 Time 28.41 Darbystown Angel, 3s to 2s, did something which apparently has been unusual for winning debutants whilst Precious has been away.....she won without finding time . So no naughty corner and re-trialling for her then! She trapped a length clear and made all. Tyrur Ryan, 5/2 to 7/4, was squeezed for room at the first and finished fourth. Race 8 Grade A1 Time 28.62 Rei Doms Cantona, 7/2 to 3s, trapped a length clear, a lead he held to coming off the last bend from which point he gradually forfeited said lead until caught almost on the line. Aranock Solo, backed at 5/2 turned in third place and stayed on to hold that placing. Nudges at the first and third bends didn't help her cause. Dacent Lightfoot, backed at 6s, was always going to struggle early doors with some of these but he stayed on well to finish a respectable fourth after being forced to check at the third. Race 9 Grade OR Time 27.92 World Record, 8s to 5s, trapped best and surged to the front taking a middle course. He didn't help his cause by running wide at the second but still had enough in the locker to comfortably win this. Keiths Flyer, 8s to 7s, turned in third place though he may well have been helped by the trouble at traps which badly affected Borna Giovanni, backed at evens. Keith held on to third place by a sh from the favourite. Race 10 Grade S2 Time 36.22 When Ballinaglera Lad, 7/2 to 7/4, quickened clear between bends one and two the race seemed over. However, Grandad Ack, 7s to 5s, had other ideas. He turned third after being held at the bend and ran on so well that he collared the favourite close to the line. Zulu Hondo, 11/4 to 2s, started poorly and was then bumped at the bend. He came out of the second in last place and improved to finish third. Race 11 Grade S1 Time 36.00 Little Babe, 5/2 to 7/4, started slowly before quickly accelerating into second place. She underlined that she HAS to lead over this distance when she dropped back from the fifth bend and finished a one paced fifth. Sugar Loaf, 5/2 to 2s, finished a never showed fourth after being forced to check at the first bend. Race 12 Grade S1 Time 36.05 Rusheen Mikey, 5/2 to 9/4, turned in fourth place following a slow start which was followed by his being crowded wide between bends one and two. He looked close enough at the fourth bend, where there was trouble on the rails, to make his presence felt in the finish but he never produced the strong run expected and he settled for third place. If he can come to terms with racing from the 590 traps he will do a lot better than this. Clodiagh Nuts, 3s to 9/4, turned in second place after being held at he bend. He was challenging for the lead when crowded at the fourth. More aggro followed at the sixth bend and he finished fifth.

Tonight, a dry evening. The Great Thompsoni has a five timer.
Race 1 Grade A4 Time 28.58 Late support for Tewmax Lucy, 9/2 to 4s, who raced to the front shortly after the start and stayed there.
Race 2 Grade A8 Time 29.39 Corgrigg Betty, 5/4 to 10/11, improved from fourth place to quicken impressively between bends three and four but, after taking the lead at the fourth bend she slowed, moved out and interfered with her immediate rival. She finished second and was marked awkward. The dog interfered with was Nans Tiger, 8s to 7s, who had led the bend after missing the break. He finished fourth. Auntie Nan, 8s to 7s, was crowded on the run up before being badly hampered at the bend. She finished last.
Race 3 Grade A6 Time 28.67 The reserve, Gentle Roisin, 4s to 3s, was badly berthed in the orange and moved across at traps causing herself and Eoins Stanley, 3s to 11/4, problems. Stanley recovered well enough to turn second but gave up that position at halfway before easing at the third bend. He finished fourth with Roisin, who had turned third dog, running on well to finish a close second. Baliff Shannon, 6s to 9/2, fell out and was bumped at the bend. She finished last.
Race 4 Grade A7 Time 29.10 Rock It Kathy, 5/2 to 4/5, didn't have the early to get a position early but ran on late to finish a close third. Hallelujahjordan, 5s to 7/2, started slowly, was crowded on the run up and then was forced to check at the first bend. She finished fifth.
Race 5 Grade S4 Time 36.50 Maybe George, 7/2 to 3s, trapped best and made all... just about. Trade Maddie, 6s to 5s, started slowly and turned in third place. She moved off and was crowded at the third before keeping on well to finish third. Longwood Houdini, 12s to 6s, made a poor start and following a first bend crowd was never a factor finishing last.
Race 6 Grade A6 Time 28.58 Tyrur Peggy, 7/4 to 6/4, turned second after missing second bend aggro and finished in that position.
Race 7 Grade A1 Time 28.06 Bandicoot Zebo, 7/2 to 3s, was crowded back to fourth place at the bend before he stayed on to finish second. Messi Legend, backed at 7/4, trapped a length clear and led to the third before finishing third.
Race 8 Grade A3 Time 28.24 Redstone Brenos, 7/4 to 11/8, missed the break and turned in fifth place before staying on to finish second. Sinatra Princess, 7/2 to 11/4, also missed the break but got the better run to turn in fourth place. However, she was forced to check and badly crowded at the third bend and finished fourth.
Race 9 Grade A2 Time 28.11 Before the late withdrawal of the blue sheet Daves Di-silva had been backed from 7s to 3s. However, he stumbled badly at traps and finished last. After the new market had been formed Barnagrane Ace was backed from 6s to 5s. He missed the break, turned in third and stayed there to the line.
Race 10 Grade A5 Time 28.42 Tyrur Sharapova, 7/4 to 6/4, trapped best and led to the fourth bend before finishing second to a winner who ran much better than of late. Troublesometeddy, 5s to 4s, was crowded at traps, never showed and finished fifth. Whistle Mouse, 7s to 9/2, eased at the bend and was then outpaced.
Race 11 Grade A1 Time 27.72 Carthage Girl, 11/8 to 5/4, trapped well with the red sheet and, after taking a m/w course from traps, accelerated into the lead on the run up. She was joined at the last bend by the red sheet but ran game and led again approaching the line. Tyrur Loughery, 9/2 to 4s, missed the break and was walloped at the first bend. He finished last.
Race 12 Grade A3 Time 28.48 Headforthehudson, 4s to 7/2, missed the break before being involved in terrible trouble at the bend which affected all bar the first two home. She finished a well beaten third.

Tonight, BAGS.
Race 1 Grade A6 Time 28.78 Swift Bedington, 7/2 to 3s, found himself at the rear going into the first bend following a missed break and a minor crowd. However, he strode out really well down the back to quicken clear between bends three and four. OK the leaders found a bit of trouble at the third but the winning margin underlines the class advantage the old dog had.
Race 3 Grade A8 Time 28.75 Tyrur Jackson, 9/4 to 2s, quickly led but only held the lead between bends three and four where he ran very wide. He finished second behind a winner who showed much better form and didn't ease at the corners.
Race 7 Grade A7 Time 28.60 Given Tyrur Alison's style of running its unlikely at the moment that she will win races won in 28.60. Backed from 6s to 5s, she once again started slowly before being crowded wide at the bend. She finished last.
Race 5 Grade A9 Time 29.24 Look Ahead, 4s to 7/2, managed to lead the bend and given the quality of the opposition had little trouble holding on to victory. Finnure Fern, 2s to 7/4, was forced to check and was crowded at the second bend and finished third.
Race 6 Grade A4 Time 28.68 The support for Tyrur Skippy, 7/2 to 2s, suggested we would see a big run. Instead, he finished last, a position he held from traps after being out trapped by the field.
Race 7 Grade A4 Time 28.41 Belfast Child, 4s to 3s, turned a handy second after enjoying a better run round the first two bends than most. He led at the last bend but his main challenger ran on just that bit better to snatch the win close to the line.
Race 8 Grade A3 Time 28.33 Plenty of aggro at the first bend caused by the Dobby dog. Downsizing, 5/2 to 2s, missed the break and was badly hampered when he ran into the aggro at he bend. He managed to turn in third and had closed the gap on the first two by the time the line arrived.
Race 9 Grade A2 Time 27.86 The best backed dog of the meeting was Maybe Kitty, 9/4 to 5/4, who produced an exhilarating display of trapping and very good early pace to quickly race clear.
Race 10 Grade A3 Time 28.20 Toker Fortune, 3s to 9/4, was out trapped and was never a factor finishing sixth.
Race 11 Grade A2 Time 28.20 Active Quest, 3s to 5/2, finished third on merit after being well beaten for early by the first two home. Quest had every chance.
