At Yarmouth last night Musical Gaga showed just why she has dominated the ante-post market from the outset with a brilliant track record performance in heat three of the Paddy Power TV Trophy over 843m at Yarmouth.

Dean Childs’s bitch, the 2-7 favourite, was soon at the head of affairs and really turned it on from halfway, powering clear to win by almost nine lengths from Freedom Cache, whose mid-race move petered out late on, in recording 52.86sec, 12 spots quicker than the time record by 2007 TV Trophy champion Spiridon Louis in a trial stakes for that event.

The competition had opened with an impressive eight-bend debut from Charlie Lister’s Farloe Tango. He raced handier than is often the case and, despite being forced to check at the third bend, was quickly chasing down reigning champion Blonde Reagan and went away from the penultimate turn to beat that rival by eight lengths in 53.42sec.

Chris Allsopp’s Incitatus ground down long-time leader Golden Donaire to take heat two by nearly four lengths in 53.74sec with hard-luck story Aayamzabella, in all sorts of trouble early as she looked for the rails from four, rallying but failing by just half a length to claim a place in next week’s final.

Lister’s Derby champion Sidaz Jack made his first competitive appearance since his memorable success at Wimbledon in June a winning one when taking the top division of an East Anglian Derby trial stakes over 462m, riding a first bend bump and then asserting at three-quarters to beat Young Golden by two and a half lengths in 27.63sec.

MUSICAL GAGA is 1-3 with the sponsor for next Wednesday's £8,000 Paddy Power TV Trophy final after her record-breaking performance in the third heat over 843m at Yarmouth on Monday.

Dean Childs's bitch turned heat three into a procession, breaking well from trap five - which she will again go from in the Sky Sports-televised final - and powering to a near nine lengths victory over Freedom Cache in recording 52.86sec (+60), an improvement of 12 spots on the previous best set by Spiridon Louis in 2007.

Next in the betting at 7-2 is Farloe Tango, who made a winning marathon debut when taking his heat in 53.42sec, while the other heat winner, Incitatus (53.74sec) is an 8-1 chance.
