whether he could hack it at the top level. then you know the answer as well as I.his future is more about stud.but will he be busy enough. we are primarily about racing so a stud dog may be a luxury to give one its best chances.it needs a stud kennels.

Who knows a top vet over in Ireland may be able to fix up any problems and Ballymac Ambrose will be seen on the track again?

A sad end to his racing career but hopefully the start of a successful career at stud, heβs certainly got the pedigree for that. It has been a tremendous experience having a share in this hound particularly from the night he equalled the long standing 470 metres track record at Belle Vue and then a couple of weeks later unofficially beating the 590 track record after raising his head after leaving the boxes which he had never run from. Iβve been a regular at the track for 50 years now and this was the best dog that I ever saw run at the track. I have to say that Bev has IMO done a fantastic job with the dog after his earlier issues and cannot have left anyone IN DOUBT that she knows how to train greyhounds. Thanks Bev!

Hi Dave
A very good friend of mine has asked me to contact you.
The question he wants to know is as follows.
WHICH DO YOU THINK WAS THE BETTER CLASS...
BALLYMAC AMBROSE or PURE MADNESS
He knows they were both different types but he just wondered what your thoughts were.

bloody hell somebody has a good memory. ambrose by a mile. madness was a good sort and we have had many sprinters.but he was one of the tops but noble lox same time was better overall. ambrose though beat many dogs that cost thousands. and different eras different standards. and levels. we have been lucky to have had some brilliant dogs. never suited a lot of people but we had usually beat them anyway, and it generated a lot of jealousy.
