The difference between the update from the GRA to Belle Vue patrons (nil) and Startrax to theirs (timely and frank) says it all. Im not sure i'd be putting as much store in the GRAs commitment to a shared long term objective though.

Correct Marto, we need somebody from the outside to save BV..the GRA have no interest at all.

Look the GRA have a lease and thats BINDING, the problem we as greyhound people have is they will probably sell out for profit. The way forward is the local community and MP. The area has lots of empty property and the only people moving in these will be those upgrading from the local terraced community, whats really needed is the BOOKMAKER cionnection and surely FRED DONE is the man, even though I cant get a bet with them. I do think getting planning permission might not be as easy as these parasites think.

Let’s hope your right, I emailed the mayor on Tuesday asking for his support and giving him the history of the track.

As the Friends of Belle Vue , is it now the time to approach Fred Done and may be other parties to see if they have any interest in the purchase of Belle Vue to prolong greyhound racing at the Zoo ?

Kevin, while I fully understand your concerns about the future of Belle Vue Stadium, and much value your support, it would be nice to see you take ten on this issue until you know more of what is actually happening, and let NO NEWS be your good news, for now! Things are not always as they first appear to be and just because there isn’t anyone going around blowing a trumpet and banging a drum, this doesn’t mean that there isn’t anything happening! There is no smoke without fire as the saying go’s – and almost certainly somewhere and perhaps sometime soon, someone will look to submit planning permission, and it is only then, once we have a genuine target to aim at, will battle commence, with the one aim in mind, protecting and hopefully improving the status of our Stadium as an entertainment centre. There is indeed action behind the scenes, with pro-active planning to the fore, and with solid support from sources that shall remain nameless at this stage! During this difficult period for us all, the less negative comment the better, as this will only add fuel to fires that really shouldn’t be burning in the first place! When circumstances allow, positive news will be posted here on the forum, but in the meantime, please have patience, keep the faith and let us all join together with a concerted action in defending our historic stadium against any future planning application(s).
