as you said well done to Diane who got on with the job of getting signatures. As Precious said Jill was getting signatures from the employees. I would like to point out that it was Jill and a couple of other trainers that came up with idea of the petition and asked myself to put together the form and posters. She also contacted Mick Hardy to let him know what was happening last night insisting that we needed to start collecting signatures straight away. Jill is as committed as anyone to keeping Belle Vue open, even though many would think to the contrary, with a few dogs going to Nottingham in the coming weeks.An update for today is that a member of staff from Perry Bar was at Belle Vue this morning and has agreed to take one of the forms back with her to start collecting signatures there too. Also sheets will be handed to the stock car guys next time they are at the Zoo in a couple of weeks- every little helps as they say😉

FRIENDS OF BELLE VUE STADIUM (FOBVS) 

Following the recent strategy meeting to discuss, amongst other things, the granting of our ACV, now officially confirmed. I wish to extend our sincere thanks to all concerned in building this successful submission!

That was the first step and the start of what we would hope is a successful journey together!

I am now looking to take the next step in forming a proactive sub-committee, hopefully with a manageable balanced mix of volunteer owners and trainers working as a collective.

To this aim I am asking you to show your interest by volunteering just a little of your valuable time, by contacting me either via pm or by other means as shown earlier on this thread – please!

Your contribution, no matter how small, be it for 1hr a week, or five, could be crucial to the cause, which is to help secure our primary aim, the future of Belle Vue Stadium.

In anticipation of your continued support.

We have to inform people about the history of the stadium,it mustn't be allowed to end up like other tracks that have closed and lie idle Walthamstow as an example,the passion we have for this beautiful animal ,as much as I like other tracks,This is the one where it all started,it is the home of greyhound racing,it provides so much pleasure and entertainment,.

Just to update our supporters.

With plenty of work ongoing behind the scenes and a more than willing task force "given the opportunity", I can confirm with you today that the intended sub committee - to work as a collective "task force" has now been put in place and almost ready to go if and when the need arises!

*Although a provisional committee has been set up, anyone interested in volunteering their services by all means please pm me or contact me for information. (contact details earlier on thread)

We currently have a balanced mix of owners and trainers as our task force more than ready to work for our Primary aim of maintaining the current status of our Historic Stadium.

Although some of our ongoing work is of a sensitive nature and therefore not at this stage for general publication, you will be kept up to date on this forum with any news that is - by JR working as our Multi Forum News, Collection Liaison as part of our task force.

Suffice to say that we are now prepared for the implied threat, but we would still need all hands to the pumps in order to meet our required targets when the need arises.  That means - we need you all to contribute if and when you can - more on this later.

SHOULD THERE EVER BE THE NEED

Just to clarify and to avoid any misunderstanding:

There appears to be an understanding by some, that only OWNERS & TRAINERS are to be involved with our fight to save our stadium SHOULD THE NEED arise!

This is not so!  Should the need arise, we would want EVERYONE to become involved - YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE either a trainer nor an owner - YOU JUST NEED TO BE WILLING AND ABLE to help us collect the support we need in what would be a rather cramped time frame.

*ALL PREVIOUS SUPPORT NAMES COLLECTED will be INVALID 

under the official PETITION SCHEME we would need to use*

I would hope this clears up any misunderstanding!
