A MESSAGE JUST POSTED UP ON 'TWITTER' BY OUR EX RACING MANAGER Mr DAVE BRAYSHAW... So very sad to hear about Belle Vue closing whether inevitable or not.
Special place, special memories and so much history.
Cruel there will be no notice, no final meeting for farewells, nothing.
ARC, Risk Capital, GRA, Clive Feltham between them have ended it.
RIP ZOO

We knew it was coming but itβs still a very sad day .It has been a huge part of my life and I will miss it very much . To think there will be no more Boxing days, summer nights and freezing winter nights will take some getting used too

It has took ARC less than 10 months to close the zoo which was the start of greyhound racing. We now have to look at the people involved in this decision and their neglect of greyhound racing for their own personal ends . These are the very same people charged with promoting greyhound racing and occupying positions of influence and power within the sport and the very own governing body. The GBGB governing body that has squandered millions filling promoters pockets with grants and renting offices at huge cost in London when they could have purchased any stadium and run their business from there. Clive Feltham who has been on every board supposedly promoting racing and holds the record for shutting tracks down. Rachel Corden who has just sold Nottingham to take a position with ARC who have closed the zoo. Mark Bird of the GBGB who post lockdown was saying how well greyhound racing was doing as 3 tracks closed and not a word from him about their demise. The above are all still in their unelected positions as the sport shrinks and the stakeholders and staff suffer.

Great posting 'george36'
I think you have summed up the present situation our sport finds itself at this time.

OK, GREYHOUNDS HAVE CLOSED AT BV, BUT IF YOU ARE A SUPPORTER THEN KEEP UP YOUR SUPPORT. DONT CHUCK IN THE TOWEL. AND TRY TO ATTEND YOUR NEAREST TRACK, HOWEVER, DISSAPOINTED YOU MAY BE AT THIS TIME. THINGS MAY CHANGE FOR THE BETTER. THIS COULD BE BEST DESCRIBED AS OUR DUNKIRK. LETS HOPE WE CAN MAKE A COMEBACK.
