TRIALS
A MAJOR PROBLEM AT THE ZOO
WHICH NEEDS SORTING OUT A.S.A.P...... QUALIFYING AND RE-TRIALS HAVE BECOME A MAJOR PROBLEM AT BELL VUE SINCE OUR NEW WEEKLY FORMAT OF RACING WAS INTRODUCED SINCE THE DEMISE OF THE SADLY LOST THURSDAY EVENING FIXTURES AT THE TRACK.
NOW WE HAVE TWO VERY SUCCESSFUL BAGS MEETING WHERE NO TRIALS ARE ALLOWED TO TAKE PLACE BEFORE OR AFTER GETTING A TRIAL AT BELL VUE HAS BECOME A NIGHTMARE.
OK WE HAVE A WEEKLY TRIAL SESSION ON A THURSDAY BUT UNFORTUNATLY NOT ALL OF THE 16 CONTRACT TRAINERS ARE ATTENDING THESE SESSION'S FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER?
SO THIS MEANS TRIALS BEFORE RACING ON A FRIDAY AND SATURDAY EVENING ARE AT A PREMIUM
PLUS NO SPRINT TRIALS ARE ALLOWED BEFORE RACING ON SATURDAY'S GOD ONLY KNOWS WHY THAT IS?
AND NOW WITH THE OPEN RACE SCENE STARTING TO KICK IN OUTSIDE TRAINERS WILL BE ASKING FOR TRIALS BEOFRE RACING WHEN THEY BRINGS THERE DOGS FOR THE OPENS EACH AND EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT FROM NOW ON.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE ANSWER IS TO THIS PROBLEM, BUT I DO KNOW THIS SITUATION NEEDS LOOKING INTO BY THE BELLE VUE RACING OFFICE TEAM...
PLUS AS AN OWNER WHEN YOU BUY A GREYHOUND TO RACE AT BELLE VUE NO WAY SHOULD IT TAKE 3 TO 4 WEEKS TO GRADE ON.
COME ON BELLE VUE RACING OFFICE GET THIS CRAZY SITUATION SORTING OUT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE...

I don't see the reason why they don't trial before bags or even after the bags , when I was on kinsley you could trial your dog on the Saturday then again Tuesday after bags and again Saturday and you was graded on in a week , helps everybody out .

And here's another scenario that has come to light since I started this problem thread
What about the situation when the Belle Vue Racing Office decide to give a trainer a Friday or a Saturday evening off, because we all know fully well that it's very rare that all 16 contract trainers are on duty at the 4 weekly race meetings, thus leaving trainer's only two options of being able to trial at the Thursday session or at either a Friday or Saturday [NO SPRINTS ON A SATURDAY]
This whole situation needs urgent attention down at Belle Vue sooner rather than later..
COME ON CAPTAIN BOB GET A BLOODY GRIP AND SORT IT OUT.

Plenty of other BAGS tracks trial before racing and Nottingham is a prime example on a Monday evening...
COME ON BELLE VUE RACING OFFICE TEAM LET'S HAVE SOME ACTION WITH THIS ON-GOING PROBLEM AT THE ZOO.
AND IN MY OPINION THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN CREATED BY YOU LOT DOWN IN THE RACING OFFICE SO GET IT SORTED NOW!

Certainly on Wednesdays there are not enough kennels to allow trials as there are 84 runners and reserves travel, only 100 available and I suppose nobody will want to hang around to trial after racing on a Sunday not sure that the racing office would trial before bags for fear of a problem arising. The trainers that will miss out are those who wont travel to the Thursday trials. Trials are available to everyone that wants them just perhaps not when they want them.

Jimmy, Skippy makes the same point as i'm going to make.
Trials are available on a Thursday. It's not the tracks fault if trainers don't want to use them. If an owner has a greyhound sat on its bed waiting to be qualified but the trainer won't take it to Thursday trials, then surely that's something for the owner to raise with their trainer.

Henry, Although at first glance - your answer appears to be a valid one, and one I would tend to agree with for the want of a genuine serious alternative.
The fact of the matter is though - the trainers now have a reduced opportunity for trialing in due to the replacement meeting for Thursdays now being a Sunday BAGS, and currently taboo for trialing.
The impact of this change, (roughly how much of a dog count is this loss?) may well have initially been overlooked when the changes first came into being - but surely now that this problem has developed, this should be addressed - and at a rapid rate of knots.
I don't think that making more kenneling available would be a suitable long term solution - unless that is, it were for investing in the future, with perhaps another meeting on the horizon. Otherwise this expenditure would be a waste unless they were to revamp/refurbish the whole shed-load. I am sure they would perhaps consider this too expensive and not worth the effort.
Maybe someone out there knows better, as when looking for suitable ideas as a solution - I must confess, like many others, I am grabbing at straws here!

ANOTHER VERY QUICK FIX TO THIS ON GOING PROBLEM
PUT ON ANOTHER MEETING EITHER ON MONDAY,TUESDAY OR IF POSSIBLE BRING BACK OUR BELOVED THURSDAY EVENING SLOT
ALSO ANOTHER THING WORTH A MENTION AT SOME TRACKS THESE DAYS THEY HOLD DOUBLE-HEADERS, KINSLEY & ROMFORD ARE PRIME EXAMPLES.
WHAT ABOUT IN THE SUMMER MONTHS HOLDING A MEETING ON A SUNDAY EVENING SAY WITH 12 RACES [TO INCLUDE OPEN RACING] AND ALSO TO INCLUDE A TRIAL SESSION BEFORE-HAND...
