18 month contracts coming to an end? I understand that it's an 18 month notice period- you have to hand your notice in and then work out the 18 months not 18 months from the day you sign it, I maybe wrong? Yeah itβs an 18months notice period

Fingers all crossed nothing gets pulled out at kenneling tonight.
There was a rumor on twitter that tonight's 590m race could have a vacant trap?

They will wait to see if anything gets backed before pulling one out .That has been the policy recently. Betfair not gone up yet so they will be waiting

Hi All,
With respect to all posters and with no offense meant, there is so much speculative crap being bandied about relating to vacant traps, with a fair amount being wide of the mark.
I myself wouldnβt profess to know the full picture, but what little I do know from asking around, I am posting my views here!
Due to an unfortunate set of circumstances which has had an effect on us all - YES, there is a shortage of hounds, with a mixture over the last few months of the Cough - plus Season and Lameness besides a fair movement of transitional hounds and of course the open race opportunities if you are lucky enough to have a hound suitable to compete at the level.
The other obvious βknock onβ problems that arise because of the aforementioned, is in setting suitable graded races with enough hounds βper gradeβ available for selection and use by the RM.
If all problems were communicated between relevant parties in a timely manner, this would go some way towards helping RO in setting out their stall for the week ahead. It could certainly help in keeping a lid on the vacant trap situation.
Guessing what might or might not be going on is not helping anyone, with malicious rumour only making things worse!
Times are difficult enough as it is and until the Cloud hanging over the Stadium improves or better still - goes away, it would help us all if we kept negativity to a minimum and not provide ready ammunition to those that would willingly use it against us.
As things stand, despite all the uncertainty, we are still clinging on to the one main positive that we have, in that we are still open, we are still racing, and we are still prepared to fight on! Well I assume that most of us are!
Nothing is ever perfect, but it would be great if we could try singing from the same hymn sheet!
Just a thought.
Alan
*As a footnote - we would hope to hear sometime this week just what the state of play is regarding our continuing FOBVS Belle Vue 100 battle against the planners!
You will hear it here on the forum direct from FOBVS when we do!

Jun 17, 2019 at 8:41pm a9snotopens said: 1) One Turnstile to get in (yes another for owners),but to general public,a pain in the arse queuing to get in,sometimes upto 15 minutes. 2) Searched by security on entry, really ? getting frisked to enter a dog track ? maybe its the norm, idk 3) The downstairs bar .. dont get me started on the staff there...nice round bar,you are ORDERED to queue up next to the till. 4) A queue 20 yards long at the burger bar,one server,6 packers stood in line for 20+ minutes 5) 12 race card,5 5 dog races,2 non runners,2 4 dog affairs....Saturday night. 6) The worst race framing in the country,NOT CLOSE,dogs playing run around out of the cans, just luck more arent injured. The RM cannot watch the races. 7) No seeded wide runners, not one...one wide runner a race, whatever gets put in 6 is allotted a wide tag...yes Im serious. 8) As soon as the dogs are entering the traps for the last race,ALL bars are closed, shutters down...400 6 packers stood there holding their strange persons
Its almost as if they are trying to drive people away, yet its still very busy every Saturday night. Greyhound racing is thriving in the NW but for some reason whoever is at the helm at Bellevue is hellbent on running it down.
RO needs a complete overhaul,a rebuild from scratch, its a c r a pshow. The management need to have a different approach to its customers. Desperately need another trainer, with a strong kennel...the kennel strength cant cope, even with just 3 meetings.
Long story short, someone is intentionally running the place into the ground, when it could be a goldmine. Simon is doing a terrific job,but he knows as well as everyone else, something up top has to change even if they fight the development off.
Keeping the faith and little pictures are all well and good BVOF,but any thoughts on the points above ?
The Racing office isnt fit for purpose, the track is being run into the ground....even if the planning application is rejected(and it wont be anything to do with the greyhounds that save it) it needs a lot more doing.
