did anyone go to Rochdale dogs I never went, it was before my time, it closed in November 1969. My father bought his first dog in January 1970, a fawn dog, its sire was Snub Nose which ran second in the 1959 Derby. This fawn dog was supposed to have raced in the last meeting at Rochdale, although I have the racecard from the last meeting, I did not know what name he raced under, and suppose I will never get to know. I still have other Rochdale cards dating back to 1965.

Remember Teddy Lord saying he could get a dog graded on Preston without a trial. Sure enough the dog was entered and appeared on the card giving 3 yards to top class dogs he'd be getting 3 off at Bolton. Needless to say that route was not pursued. Also Frank Gillespie who went mysteriously grey after being "missing" for a few months and who invariably paid out at 6/4 when Teddy couldn't attend. frank did the clubs half decent comic did teddy lord have a painting and decorating business

Teddy was a real gent who used to back in units of £40/£80 etc.. I went to Whitwood to back one of his and put him £40 on. It won a short head and he couldn't believe he got 6/1 to his money !
