it may look as though the battle is over, with the planning for houses given. but Walmsley isn't thinking that.I wish him well. what I don't /can't understand is the lack of publicity for what is or isn't going on.how can anyone gain support if nobody knows whats going on. people say arc have this and that, but they will only pay whats its worth.so give its supporters what we can or can't hope for.arc have had its trainers on a string for nine months.some of us could have made our way onwards and got settled elsewhere., instead we are still waiting for the anticipated way forward and it hasn't happened yet. come on let's have a statement of intent.instead of wait for august /September.is that this year.

I think the only chance of ever seeing greyhound racing taking place down at the ZOO ever again now is if some lucky sod wins the National Lottery.
Never mind that's life i suppose.

TAKEN FROM THE GREYHOUND STAR WEBSITE SATURDAY 1-8-20::...BELLE VUE CLOSURE CONFIRMED β BIRD COMMENTS... Perhaps the least surprising news of the month β that Britainβs first greyhound track, Belle Vue has closed for good was made today.
GBGB Managing Director Mark Bird said: βThis is such a sad day to see the spiritual home of greyhound racing in the UK close its doors. Whilst the news is not entirely unexpected with regards to the overshadowing planning permission at the track, it is still incredibly disappointing. Iβd like to applaud the Friends of Belle Vue Stadium for their incredible efforts to galvanise public support to try and keep the track open. Despite itβs closure, every single one of them should hold their heads up high for their campaigning.
βGreyhound racing has been held at Belle Vue since 1926 and throughout its illustrious existence, the racing always managed to attract large crowds quite literally right up to its closure. Many within the greyhound community will cherish fond and lasting memories of the track and the people who worked there, who raced their greyhounds at the track and those who simply went to the track to watch the racing spectacle. Our thoughts are with the staff and we will continue to work with those trainers that remain unattached.β

That's very good of the GBGB Managing Director Mark Bird
There is only John Drake and Gary Griffiths to sort out now the others look liked they have left our sport.
Come on Mr Bird these two trainers need HELP NOW!
or they will also become lost to the game.
