Today, the BAGS/SIS Easter Eggstravaganza. A sunny day with decent going. The Great Thompsoni has a four timer.
Race 3 Grade A8 Time 29.18
Mr Betfair was on Lil Scrappy here, 5/2 to 9/4. After a poor start she turned in fourth and any chance she had of winning was removed by the bump at the fourth bend. She finished third.
Race 4 Grade A6 Time 29.11
The Offices backed Sing Along Boss, 7/4 to 5/4. she finished a decent fourth following a slow start and crowds at the first and third bends.
Race 5 Grade IV Time 28.13
Antartica, backed by Office money, trapped a length in front but the winner showed impressive early to get inside her at the first and shove her out of the way. The fav turned second and failed to match the pace of the winner to the third but was staying on near the end of the race.
Race 6 Grade IV Time 28.12
Monagea Lodge, backed by Mr Betfair from 9/4 to 2s, missed the break and never really showed her best early. It was her class which enabled her to run the bend well and go past some rivals but found that coming out of the second bend the quick starting Round Woman was just in front of her. Oh heck! Lodge comfortably held on for second but was comprehensively beaten.
Race 7 Grade IV Time 15.73
Janes Oasis, supported by Mr Betfair from 5/2 to 9/4, probably showed the best pace up here but unfortunately for the bitch three of her rivals trapped much faster. She was handy when forced to check at the bend and finished third.
Race 8 Grade A8 Time 28.77
The mediocrity of her rivals surely justified favouritism here but support from Betfair and the Offices from 5/4 to 4/5 was a bit over the top given Talk Now's recent long losing streak. She finally won here and with some ease after leading the bend underlining the talk of her needing a drop to A9 to win having been absolute rubbish! Who said dogs don't talk?
Both the winning distance of 7L and the calculated winning time of 28.67 will probably mean that she will be lucky not to be running in A5 next time.
Race 9 Grade A5 Time 28.78
Office support for Tudor Smile, 3s to 9/4, who trapped well but lost her early advantage going to the bend. She miraculously secured a clear on the rails round the first two bends and once she popped out of the second bend in the lead it was game over.
Race 10 Grade IV Time 28.25
Devious Rumble had been advertised at 11/4 in the morning but at the track was backed from 5/4 to evens by Mr Betfair. Following a slow start and crowding on the run up he was crowded at the bend and never showed finishing fifth.
Race 11 Grade A5 Time 28.64
McIlhatton, backed on Betfair from 4s to 5/2, was last dog at he bend after missing the break and showing moderate early. However, he ran on very well afterwards enjoying a clear run of course and finished second beaten by a length.
Market movers will return on Saturday.
