So another satisfied market mover 'fan'.
Today, Sunday BAGS. Several warm bodies for the early races which appeared sufficient to meet the number required for a crowd.... well, a small one then. The going was given helpfully as 'slow'. Katerina has a three timer. No Office representation.
Race 1 Grade A5 Time 29.34
The crowd had come to back Clonteen Cookie and did so from 5/4 to 4/5. He turned third dog and led at the third on his way to the £500 prize.
Race 2 Grade A8 Time 30.24
Cash support for the slow starting Liscarton Rocket, 5/2 to 9/4, who came from fifth at the second to lead at the last and win easily which says a lot about his opponents' performances. This includes Chatoms Gift, 3s to 9/4, who turned in second before being bumped at the third bend when losing her place. She finished fifth. Lissycasey Mick, supported by Mr Betfair from 7/2 to 3s, was biffed at the first and third and finished last.
Race 3 Grade A6 Time 29.98
Mr Betfair was on Valiant Boy, 2s to 6/4, and, after turning in third place, the dog led at the last bend winning comfortably. Hug the Rails, 5s to 9/2, missed the break and after getting a clear at the second bend briefly held second place until dropping back to fourth at the halfway point. She stayed on to finish second.
Race 4 Grade A7 Time 30.12
Cash support for Teetonka Sioux at 2s and the bitch took a winning lead at the second bend after missing the break. Cash and Mr Betfair support for the currently inconsistent and badly drawn Rocks Pride, 5s to 4s. He got out well enough but received the old 'one two' at the first bend and at the quarter point. He managed to finish a groggy third.
Race 5 Grade A3 Time 29.45
Betfair support for Beauvais Belle, 3s to 5/2, who just led at the bend until caught close to the line.
Race 6 Grade A4 Time 29.82
Betfair support for both Active Quest, 5/2 to 9/4, and Slaneyside Magic, 5/2 to 9/4, who both suffered badly when the fast starting blue sheet ran out coming into the second bend carting both market movers off when both were handy. Quest finished fourth and Magic last.
Race 7 Grade A4 Time 29.54
Betfair money for Redley Ryley, 9/2 to 4s,, Fancy Lady, 5s to 4s, and the well backed Ballyfin Og, 2s to evens. Og made a slow start but failed to show his best early and was bumped at the first and then at the second and finished a well beaten fourth. Lady missed the break and was very handy when forced to check behind the quick starting winner at the first. She held second place to the third bend and finished fifth. Redley ran the best of the supported dogs producing a strong finish to just fail to get up after missing the break, suffering a crowd and turning in fourth place.
Race 8 Grade A5 Time 29.56
Cash support for both McIlhatton, 7/2 to 5/2, and Baby Blue Hawk, 7/2 to 3s. The latter secured the better position turning in second place following a missed break and a slight first bend crowd. McIlhatton hadn't shown as much early and tucked onto the inside enjoying clear run round the first two turns and slipped into third place off the second bend. Approaching the third bend Hawk led on the inside from the dallying early leader and with his main rival having to come outside the two dogs entering the third bend the situation looked in Hawk's favour. However, having led, Hawk's run petered out between bends three and four as McIllhatton's became stronger and the favourite led off the last bend and stayed on for a win. Hawk finished third and is clearly not 100% fit after a long lay off.
Race 9 Grade A2 Time 29.29
Clodiagh Nuts was one of three dogs supported with cash and ran a game race here finishing second. Supported at 7/2 he held the inside and led the bend but found the winner alongside him from the second. The latter led at the third but Nuts held on gamely to the winner who's a decent stayer. Fionas Fantasy, 9/2 to 4s, finished fourth having had every chance. Rei Doms Persie, 9/4 to 2s, fell out of traps and finished fifth.
Race 10 Grade A8 Time 29.66
Redley Rooster, supported by Mr Betfair from 5/2 to 7/4, was beaten for early by the improving winner and turned second comfortably holding on to that place at the line. Captain Cook, backed by Mr Betfair from 9/4 to 2, started slowly, didn't show enough to the bend to secure a prominent position and finished fourth.
Race 11 Grade A3 Time 29.29
Mr Betfair was on the quick starting Milestone Nala, 2s to 7/4, who rode a slight crowd at the bend before leading to halfway where she was joined by the winner who went away between the last two bends leaving Nala to finish second.
Race 12 Grade A2 Time 29.34
Kanezami, 3s to 5/2, was supported on Betfair and finished a tame last after leading from the first to halfway.
