Lets stick to greyhound racing after all its called belle vue greyhound stadium That is where your wrong 'lisa876'
The Belle Vue Stadium is not just for greyhound racing, in an ideal world the stadium should be in use 7 days a week both inside and outside.
There is a lot more going on at the stadium than greyhound racing and I would imagine the GRA are on the constant look out for attracting other things other than the dogs.
OK the speedway people will take there leave in 2014 but the stock-cars are staying put and from what I've been told the inner-track may be in for a major face-lift at the end of this year.
Also I believe we could see a return of the weekend flea markets soon and with the fair and circus already booked for dates later in the year on the car-park you will see plenty going on between now and the end of the year.

we had a dog in the race on the night that the fireworks were set off my dog got spooked, and rathmore star got spooked and had to be carried off,was stood with the syndicate that owned rathmore star, and their little girl was in tears before it had even run.did you see the race or were you watching salford city reds which you have plainly said is more important than the dogs.

car boot sales on car park is fine setting fireworks off at behind traps off 590 race 3 mins before race is another.when dogs have paraded and ready to go into boxes and them have to be recalled to paddock and parade again and go back to same scene is another send in the clowns

There have been fireworks on racing nights around October / November for as long as I can remember. Bonfires and fireworks last up to 2 weeks nowadays and I'm not sure what anyway can do about it other than cancel the racing for those two weeks.

'lisa876' I'm not to sure why you keep bringing the fireworks issue from time to time.
That isolated incident had nothing to do with anybody at the track that evening and you must remember things that happen from time to time outside the stadium are not the problem of the track owners to sort out.
But if you insist on talking about fireworks like 'wilbur' has above then I suggest you contact your local MP and ask him or her to try and get the government of the day to ban them. I myself don't like fireworks but when November comes around each year you simply have to put up with what the majority of the British public want.
And another thing is the title of this thread is TIME FOR CHANGES DOWN AT THE ZOO fireworks has got nothing to do with it in anyway, plus this year November 5th falls on a Tuesday and by rights that should be the only date when people should be allowed to let them off SOME HOPE ON THAT ONE.

Your not on your own John my bitch has been in attendance 3 Wednesday's running now.
And the worst part is she's only raced once the other two afternoons she had to take things easy in the kennels with her being on reserve.
