Ballymac Eske does the clock in Coventry trial BALLYMAC ESKE dipped inside Castlebride Dan’s new track record when clocking 28.96sec in a 485m solo trial before racing at Coventry on Tuesday as Barrie Draper’s charge continued his build-up to the Racing Post Juvenile at Wimbledon on March 19. Last year’s top newcomer clocked a 5.37sec sectional from trap two and glided round the Brandon circuit as he went four spots faster than the mark set at the track on Sunday by the Golden Muzzle champion and which had also been recorded by Farloe Tango in a trial earlier that evening. Draper’s other Juvenile hopeful, Farloe Warhawk, also went round on Tuesday and recorded 29.13sec off a 5.47sec sectional.
However, fellow Sheffield handler Elaine Parker has decided against nominating Droopys Pride for the £5,000 Juvenile after last year’s Sunderland Puppy Plate winner was well beaten on his first outing of 2013 at his home track on Tuesday. “It was as we suspected it would be,” said Parker after the October 2010 dog had finished fifth behind Stepaside Bigjak over 480m, “he’s going to take a couple of weeks more and won’t be ready for a race as hot as the Juvenile. I’ve entered him for Sheffield on Sunday and we’ll see how he goes then before deciding on what to aim him at.” Connections have until noon Friday to nominate a greyhound for the Racing Post Juvenile by contacting the Wimbledon racing office. **Meanwhile, Newcastle track champion Aldworth Samson, trained by Jimmy Wright, readied himself for the Bags/SIS Easter Eggstravaganza at the track on Saturday with a smart 28.69sec (normal) solo workout before racing there on Tuesday. |

The 20/1 for the P J Rosney trained GREEN AMIGO is well gone!
'AMIGO' is now in general a 16/1 shot and in my opinion is well worth supporting each-way ante-post.
However my main fancy for this years Springbok is the J Daly trained FIRE FOOD CHILI currently at 12/1

 Droopys Lorenzo: easy winner of his Springbok heat this evening. Springbok: Lorenzo cruises into semi-finals A dramatic William Hill Springbok got under way at Wimbledon on Saturday night and fastest of the six heat winners, on a slow track that quickened up as the night wore on, was Lenson Johnny.
Tony Collett's charge, an even-money chance, and Ricky Holloway's Westmead Meteor (10-11F) dominated the betting for heat six. The former took charge entering the back straight and kept on well enough to beat his market rival by one length in 29.52sec.
Heat five saw Katie O'Flaherty's Rockview Royal (4-6F) make all of the running to beat the eyecatching Durrow Lark by 2 1/2L in a useful 29.74sec.
Dean Childs' Droopys Lorenzo, the red-hot ante-post favourite for the title, got his campaign off to a great start with a very comfortable success in heat four - beating Suirview Ranger by a little more than five lengths in 29.97sec.
The opening eliminator had seen favourite backers draw first blood when Chris Allsopp's Daddy Knowsbest (7-4F) broke well and dominated from start to finish - setting the bar at 30.07sec.
Chaos ruled in heat two after Fire Food Chili, the odds-on favourite fell when in control down the back straight. All other runners were badly distracted with the exception of Barry O'Sullivan's Uncle Blue (10-1) who completed the course in 31.13sec.
There were no other finishers meaning there will be two vacant traps in Friday's semi-finals.
Norah McEllistrim's Druids Abouttime justified his status as a red-hot 1-3 favourite when running away with the third eliminator. Starting and jumping well, he scored by a shade under 10 lengths in a time of 30.16sec.
**Tony Collett's Lenson Champ, winner of the Coral Sussex Puppy Trophy final in December, began his Racing Post Juvenile preparation with a 29.34sec trial before racing at Wimbledon.
