Did you not attend the ZOO on Saturday night 'precious'
I was waiting to read your account of last nights meeting with great interest
Simply because there seemed to be quiet a lot on money left behind in our track-side bookmakers bags at the end of last nights meeting.
Mind you I think the boys in the betting jungle must have been due a winning night after looking at some of the recent results at the Friday and Saturday evening meetings in the last few months at the ZOO....
But of course we all know the grader does his race-cards much much different from the Wednesday / Sundays BAGS fixtures.

I left early on Saturday night as I wasn't feeling well so I didn't put up a report. This was brought on by the heat... and some of the results . The 'highlights' of the night were as follows. Race 3 Grade A8 Time 28.83 Tyrur Jackson, 2s to 5/4, quickly raced clear on the run up before conceding ground when running very wide at the second bend. He led to point where he had been attacked in his last race and appeared to check very wide colliding with the orange sheet in the process. He finished third. Race 4 Grade A2 Time 27.97 The opening show of 5/4 about a novice making her debut in A2 looked very stingy but this was taken and she went off at 4/5. She showed a very impressive burst of early pace to lead on the run up and, given her trial times appeared to have the race in the bag. However, appearances once again proved deceptive and she could only lead to the last bend where she ran out of steam. She finished a one paced second. Race 5 Grade A7 Time 28.84 Holt Mill Tommy, 9/4 to 7/4, made a slow start before producing a nice show of pace to challenge at halfway and lead at the last bend when his main rival veered off wide. Race 6 Grade A5 Time 28.61 Aero Venetian appeared to have an open goal here and was backed from 4/6 to 1/2. His slow start was aggravated by a minor touch at traps. Despite this he showed the best pace up to the bend and appeared to be about to lead entering the bend but was very badly baulked by the red sheet and this casued him to stumble badly. Race 7 Grade A6 Time 28.69 Purmac Fiddler certainly had a favourite's chance here fiollowing her excellent last run but surely she she wasn't an even money shot which was the price put up against her name. This price was taken and she went off at 4/6. She was handy at the bend but moved off and collided with the blue sheet. She lost lengths and finshed last. Race 8 Grade M3 Time 36.01 Thats a Fact, 7/4 to 6/4, trapped clear and made all.

dodge pot @ my definition one not to back at short odds hence no retraction Pathetic. Dodge pot to most people means an ungenuine dog and not a dog who should avoided when at short odds. Here's an easier question for you, cartwright. What do you and Parrots have in common?

pathetic ? so only your definition counts did you not understand the statement 1/16 wins when fav only a fool would be backing this dog at short odds sorry if this was you The only meaning I have ever heard of 'dodgepot' at a greyhound racing track has been applied to an ungenuine dog. It is not my definition. Come along cartwright! Why did you single out Sup Lolls with this term? Is it because I have a share in the bitch? Of course it is. When asked to justify said comment you have found yourself unable to so have come up with this pathetic explanation. I did not buy a share in Sup Lolls to gamble the bitch. This is probably a concept your mind will find difficult to come to terms with. Correctamundo? I, like most greyhound owners, buy dogs for the enjoyment of being involved in the sport. Of course, she does not win as often as I would wish, however, in her races at Belle Vue, I think, she has finished first or second in half of her runs and she runs consistently. I'm happy with that. Anyway, you haven't answered my second question? Come along now...you know what a parrot is, don't you?

Today, a blistering hot afternoon for BAGS. The bowser went round before Race 5.
Race 1 Grade A5 Time 28.28 French Little, 7/4 to 6/4, trapped clear and led to the last bend before finishing second.
Race 4 Grade A8 Time 28.56 Runslikeacullen, 9/4 to 5/4, ran like a dog on a long run of moderate form. He made a poor start and was beat by the second bend where he was crowded. He was forced to check at the third bend when not a factor and finished a well beaten fourth.
Race 5 Grade A3 Time 28.10 Fridays Duck, 3s to 5/2, was always close to the white sheet who led off the second bend and Duck ran on the better to lead on the run in.
Race 7 Grade A6 Time 28.83 Orlas Treasure, 11/4 to 9/4, turned in third place following a missed break and led approaching the third bend until the run in. She finished second.
Race 8 Grade A3 Time 28.14 Springwell Trixy, 5s to 4s, finally got on the scoreboard here. She turned in second place and ran strongly to lead at the third winning by 3L. Dotland Warrior, 4s to 7/2, made his usual slow start before turning in third place. He finished third after losing some ground when running very wide at the last.
Race 10 Grade A2 Time 27.89 Dacent Lightfoot, 4s to 3s, turned in second place before running on to lead on the run in.
Race 11 Grade A4 Time 28.07 Tracey, 4s to 7/2, trapped best and made all. Woodsgift Factor,4s to 3s, had run better last time and turned a dangerous third. However, he didn't do the running expected and finished a well held third.
Race 12 Grade A9 Time 28.89 Thornton Tina, 6/4 to 5/4, was supported to redeem herself following last week's modest effort and she won in the style she was expected to last time despite a slow start. With no early pace on her flanks she was able to comfortably secure the rails at the bend and lead before extending that lead to the line.
Race 13 Grade A5 Time 28.09 Cracking King has taken his time getting off the mark but did so here winning impressively. Backed from 9/2 to 3s, he paced up well to be handy at the bend after missing the break and then led at the second before running on with plenty of zest.
