Race 12 Grade A4 Time 28.14 The winner found 82 spots on his last grading trial in which he suffered a bump at the last bend. It must have been some bump! Its not a pup either. This presented problems for Kersal Leah, 3s to 11/8, who missed the break and turned in fifth place. She ran on well to almost snatch second place on the line. Now your learning

I haven't gone just yet! Wednesday's market movers will be the last until August 23rd .
Today, BAGS. A heavy shower during Race 2.
Race 1 Grade A1 Time 27.99 Fionas Fantasy, 7/2 to 3s, trapped best and turned second to the winner. She was handy at the last bend where she was slightly nudged and finished second. Jamestown Duke, 5/2 to 2s, ran below his usual consistently good standard. He started slowly, was bumped at the second and finished a never showed last.
Race 2 Grade A6 Time 28.47 Scarty Champ has always looked like an animal who would mysteriously show improvement when supported in the market. Precious's sixth sense proved correct as the dog surged to the front to the run up and won comfortably following support from 5s to 9/2. He's got the early to win more races. Sup Lolls, backed at 5/2, maintained her modest record when drawn in the wide traps. A slow start saw her back in fifth at the second bend before she stayed on to finish third. Pea Diddy, backed at 4s, turned fourth and finished in that position.
Race 3 Grade A7 Time 28.97 The downgraded Thornfield Marco, 5/2 to 2s, turned second and led near the third bend on his way to victory.
Race 4 Grade A5 Time 28.80 Zulu Hondo, 7/2 to 3s is such a big dog he needs plenty of room at the bends and failed to get it here. After a slow start he showed decent early until crowded back to fifth place at the second bend. He started winding things up approaching the third but was crowded again at this point and the gaps closed. He finished fourth.
Race 5 Grade A2 Time 28.40 In a race with plenty of early zip, Petite Duck, 5s to 4s, missed the break and was crowded on the run up. She finished fifth. The white sheet ran a fine race after trouble and is not far off winning now.
Race 6 Grade A4 Time 28.91 Ballyfinn Og, 4s to 7/2,finished fifth. He missed the break but not the BIG E at the first and third bends.
Race 7 Grade A3 Time 28.52 Martins Flyer, 4s to 7/2, missed the trouble at the first turned in second place and easily led at the third. Parsons Beauty, 3s to 11/4, turned in third place after first bend crowding and finished fourth.
Race 8 Grade A8 Time 29.10 Thornfield Rita, 3s to 2s, started slowly and with her very wide running turned in fifth place. She kept on well but only improved to fourth by the time the line arrived.
Race 9 Grade A2 Time 28.33 The fate of the opponents of Rusheen Mike, 11/4 to 2s, was sealed when the dog unexpectedly trapped on terms. He was always handy and surged to the front at halfway. Night Time North, 3s to 11/4,turned third dog and finished fourth having had every chance.
Race 10 Grade A9 Time 29.60 For a few seconds it looked like the slow starting Tyrur Fernando, 3s to 5/2, would land his first win. He took the lead at the second bend after the favourite ran very wide at the second bend taking his nearest rival with him. However, the one paced Grandma Jones, 9/2 to 4s, also benefitted from the trouble and came out of the second bend in third place. Her stamina is much better that Fernando's and she made it count on the run in. Fernando was pipped for second place.
Race 11 Grade A3 Time 28.45 Things looked rosy for supporters of Starmount Linea, 7/2 to 9/4,when she trapped best. However the winner showed the better early and must have cut across her at the bend since why would she have checked out otherwise? The checking out bit did her no favours and she finished a badly beaten last. It also did no favours for Have a Gawk, 3s to 11/4, who was shaken by the collision after arriving at the bend following a slow start and trouble on the run up. Gawk did turn second but dropped away to finish fourth.

Indeed Paul - it looks like he has benefited from having the "sun on his back" as they say. Mick Howarth had told me that this dog had a good run in him but he was sunning himself in Bulgaria instead of looking after our financial wellbeing at Belle Vue. It's a pity he doesn't take it seriously enough - I could probably retire if he did. Well done anyway. Scarty Champ was another to benefit from the "sun on his back" as they say Wilbur. Hope you benefitted this time
