Today, Sunday BAGS with a better card than of late. All market moves were Betfair inspired.

Race 1 Grade A8 Time 29.14
Milestone Mirage, 3s to 5/2, made a very poor start and after missing the first bend trouble turned in third place which is where she finished.

Race 2 Grade A4 Time 28.37
A classic example of the winner running, at last, from a trap he has good consistent form from and he made no mistake here. Saleen Richard, 9/4 to 2s, made a poor start which was compounded by running very wide off the second bend. She turned in third place and kept on to finish second. Dacent Lightfoot, 4s to 3s, ran very middle at the bend and took so long to negotiate it that he was back in fifth place at the second bend. He was bumped at the third and finished fifth.

Race 3 Grade A3 Time 28.43
Fionas Fantasy, 7/4 to 6/4, managed to turn in second place before staying on late to get with a head of the game winner.

Race 4 Grade A2 Time 28.33
Support for the downgraded Rei Doms Cantona, 9/4 to 2s, who made a glum start  before gradually gaining the momentum necessary to lead the red and white sheets entering the first bend. He turned second behind a very useful dog in front but showed a nice turn of foot to lead at the third bend a lead he comfortably held on to. So, a win and a decent one and one feels there is plenty more to come when the dog settles down and gets used to Darrenamundo's Spartan training regime.

Race 7 Grade A7 Time 28.65
McGahons Storm, 3s to 5/2, made a slow start before running round very wide and in splendid isolation to finish last.

Race 9 Grade A5 Time 28.77
Efceerevolution, 7/2 to 3s showed a bit of form here after taking a bump at the bend. She ran on well to finish second after turning fourth dog with a bit to do. Slaneyside Trudy, 6s to 5s, started slowly and checked middle at the bend. She was last dog at the second and just about improved to fifth as the line arrived

Race 10 Grade A2 Time 28.57
Ballingarry Girl, backed at 4s, led between bends one and two following a bumpy ride at the bend but she had no answer when the slow starting reserve, who got a solo flew, past near the third. Girl finished second.

Race 11 Grade A4 Time 28.95
Tyrur Kagawa, 4s to 3s, ran much better than last time here overcoming a poor start to turn second and go handy at the third bend before settling for second. With a good break he would have won. Bootle Tracer, 6s to 4s, started slowly and was always struggling before finishing last.

Today, BAGS. The track had been re-sanded on the second bend and back straight. Helen of Wigan has a three timer. The market movers were Betfair inspired unless stated.

Race 1 Grade A4 Time 28.82
Following a level break Little Gossip, 9/4 to 2s, was crowded on the run up and turned in fifth place. She finished fourth.

Race 2 Grade A6 Time 29.07
Plenty of trouble at the first bend where the slow starting Richly Deserved, initially supported by Mr Betfair and then vigorously backed by the Offices from 5/2 to 5/4, seized the fence between the first two bends and took a lead he held until the run in. He finished second. Tyrur Berbatov, 7/2 to 3s, made a poor start, took a bump at the bend but turned third after missing most of the trouble but then steadily lost ground though he did finish third and may well have finished sore.

Race 3 Grade A7 Time 29.10
Gentle Roisin, 5/2 to 2s, took a first bend bump following a slow start and was back in fifth at the second. She made a bit of progress to the third bend and then found no extra finishing fifth.

Race 5 Grade A3 Time 28.35
Ardera Brett, 7/4 to 6/4, started slowly, turned third and stayed on to finish second behind an improver who won on merit.

Race 6 Grade A2 Time 28.21
A disappointing effort from Darver Bo Bo, 5/2 to 6/4, who was effectively beat when forced to check at the second bend. He'd started slowly and failed to show his best early. After turning in fourth place he kept on for third place.

Race 8 Grade A5 Time 28.78
Lubagh Eel has some of the characteristics of a London bus. She goes a long time without winning and then two wins come along together. Backed by Betfair and then well backed by the Offices from 5/2 to 6/4, Eel trapped well and made all kicking on from the third bend when the blue sheet challenged.

Race 9 Grade A8 Time 28.98
Thornton Tina was supported at 5/2 but drifted to 3s and finished a well held second. She missed the break and took second place from the second bend. The reserve, Rosario Girl, 9/4 to 6/4, also missed the break and was making some progress in fourth place when crowded at the third. She stayed on for third and with a clear she would have finished second. Lissycasey Mick, 9/2 to 4s, missed the break and turned in third until Girl shoved him aside at the third. He finished fifth.

Race 11 Grade A3 Time 28.28
Woodsgift Factor, 3s to 5/2, turned in fourth place before running on to finish second.

Race 13 Grade A2 Time 28.20
The Clonteen Cookie fan club were present to support her from 7/2 to 5/2. She started slowly and finished third staying on well from fourth place at the second bend.

Today, BAGS on a sunny day. Extra sand was added to the track yesterday. Bev has a five timer.

Race 1 Grade A3 Time 28.17
Betfair money for Swift Ronaldo, 4s to 7/2, who stayed on for third after being forced to check at the second.

Race 2 Grade A2 Time 28.25
Altcar Stanley, backed by Mr Betfair and the Offices from 9/4 to 5/4, had little trouble leading these near the bend and, with a bit of crowding behind, easily held on to his lead.

Race 3 Grade A4 Time 28.52
Betfair support for Seathwaite Town, 11/4 to 5/2, who trapped best and led to off the last bend where his inconsiderate kennel chum slipped past leaving Town to settle for second place.

Race 5 Grade A7 Time 28.81
Office support for the Burt Lancaster dog from 3s to 2s.After missing the break he got a bumpy ride to the bend where he was forced to check badly before finishing last. Very un-Burt like .

Race 7 Grade A7 Time 28.56
A decent effort from Kilcarrig Oyster, backed by the Offices from 2s to 7/4. Oyster missed the break and turned in second place. She kept on well to the line securing second place and finding a big chunk of time in the process.

Race 8 Grade A8 Time 28.68
Office money for Rosario Girl, 9/2 to 7/2, who lacked the pace to secure a position and after a first bend crowd turned in fourth place before staying on for third.

Race 9 Grade A2 Time 28.18
Darver Bo Bo, backed by Mr Betfair from 5/2 to 2s, ran a fine race to go down by the minimum distance. He moved very middle on the bends and got into a battle for second place with the blue sheet. When he finally got the better of his rival coming off the last bend he ran on gamely after the leader.

Race 10 Grade A6 Time 28.74
Betfair money for Cabela Maid, 3s to 11/4, who trapped best and made all showing a nice turn of early pace in the process.

Race 13 Grade A5 Time 28.40
A coalition between Betfair and the Offices saw the price of Tuesdays Gift cut from 3s to 9/4. With the blue sheet outboxing Gift and then moving to her right on the run up the favourite was squeezed for room and got the BIG E at the bend. She finished fifth.

Race 2 Grade A8 Time 28.66
McGahons Magic, 6/4 to evens, made short work of these after turning second dog and swooping at halfway.

Race 3 Grade A9 Time 29.15
The strength of the opposition was indicated by the out of form His and Mine being backed at 6/4 . He trapped best and turned second to a short runner before challenging on the run in where Longwood Houdini, 11/8 to 5/4, went past for the win. Houdini had made a poor start but managed to turn third dog after missing the first bend crowd. He had quite a bit to do but did it in a style which merited the win. His and Mine finished second.

Race 4 Grade A7 Time 28.79
Grandads Ha Ha, 7/2 to 7/4, turned in second place behind a dog who usually tires on the home straight with Tyrur Rambler, 3s to 7/4, in an unusually handy fourth place. Both dogs were handy at the third bend where Ha Ha was slightly crowded and Rambler was forced to check. Coming off the last bend both dogs got into a tussle which Rambler won on the race to the line. 

Race 5 Grade A6 Time 28.70
Sing Along Boss, 7/2 to 3s, led on the run up until joined at halfway by the blue sheet. They raced together before the blue sheet took a slight lead off the last bend until Boss got on top close to the line. Clonoulty Babe, evens to 4/5, failed to box well and turned in third place. A reasonably close third at the line suggested a decent effort on her part.

Race 6 Grade S2 Time 36.03
A fine effort from Pauls Robinho, 6s to 9/2, who showed nice pace to lead at the fourth bend after turning fourth dog. He easily held his advantage to the line. Pennys Option, 5/4 to 11/10, yet again failed to win after having every chance. He turned third dog and stayed there to the line.

Race 7 Grade A5 Time 28.45
Tyrur Sharapova, 2s to 6/4, ran a decent second after checking at the traps and turning second. Fawn Piper, 3s to 5/2, stayed on from fourth place to finish third after a first bend crowd.

Race 8 Grade S1 Time 35.79
Whether it was psychoanalysis, hypnotism or a good old fashioned talking to Darrenamundo managed to get Rathmore Star, 4s to 9/4, to put in the sort of performance that he has been promising to do for weeks over this trip. He trapped a length clear and gamely held on for a win.

Race 9 Grade S1 Time 36.11
In reverse order Dacent Acorn, 3s to 5/2 led from the first until close to the line finishing third in what was her first run over this trip for a while. Chesters Hawkeye, 10s to 8s, ran a huge race following a slow start which saw her in last place at the third bend. She showed excellent pace to the fifth bend which is becoming a feature of her performances before staying on well to just fail to reach the winner at the line. Jack Relax, 7/4 to 6/4, rode a first bend crowd and managed to turn in third place. He held the inside at the third and by the fourth was handy to the leader managing to wear said dog down close to the line. Its been some time since he ran competitively over this trip so some improvement should come from this dog also in next week's final.

Race 11 Grade A3 Time 28.35
Parsons Beauty, 7/2 to 11/4, trapped well and accelerated into a winning lead on the run up. Slaneyside Moira, backed at 5/2, missed the break and made matters worse by checking at traps. He raced up well until moving off and getting crowded at the first bend before taking up third place a position he held to halfway. He finished fourth.

Race 12 Grade A1 Time 28.18
Antartica, 5/2 to 7/4, started slowly and was back in fifth place at the second bend following a roughing up at the bend. She stayed on for second place helped by obtaining a solo round the last two bends.

Race 13 Grade A2 Time 28.38
Unrelenting support for the latest debutant from Andy's Academy of Acceleration, Shaneboy Echo, 6s to 9/4. He started slowly and following first bend crowding turned in fourth place before running well to finish second to Tyrur Babylon, 8s to 5s, who trapped clear and made all. Monagea Lodge, backed at 6/4 but returned at 7/4 following support for others, ran a decent race to finish third. A slow start and crowds at the first and third bends did not help her cause.

Whats strange about that. All 6 dogs should be backed shouldn't they if the grading is competitive?
