Tonight, three timers for Helen of Wigan, the Great Thompsoni and Paulo Gregsoni, Italian nobleman. The track was bowsered before Race 9.
Race 1 Grade A9 Time 29.02 Darver Lily, 4s to 5/2, finished fourth following a slow start and a second bend crowd.
Race 2 Grade A8 Time 28.99 Redley Rooster, 4s to 7/2, trapped clear and made all from Highview Chain, 4s to 3s, who, as usual, found herself at the back of the field at the bend but then ran on well. Tyrur Kara, 2s to 7/4, missed the break, turned second and was handy at the third before weakening to finish fifth.
Race 4 Grade A7 Time 28.58 With no early pace to contend with here the usually tardy starting Fionas Fury was backed from 7/4 to 4/6. The good start was a bonus and she was soon clear for a facile win.
Race 5 Grade S4 Time 36.34 The market moves were for the out of form Mist Over Pendle, 5s to 9/2, Sup Lolls, 5/2 to 6/4 who's on a long streak of finishing second and Shut Up Monkey, 3s to 5/2, who was on a losing run of thirty seven races at two tracks. Monkey got out easily better than she has ever done and was in the lead off the second bend on her way to a convincing win. Pendle started slowly, turned third dog and was bumped at the third bend when in a promising position. She finished third. Sup Lolls also made a slow start and failed to pick up pace quickly. She was in the rear at the second and when trying to make progress was forced to check at the third and fourth bends. She finished fifth.
Race 6 Grade A4 Time 28.56 Slaneyside Magic, 7/4 to 6/4, finished fourth after missing the break and finding trouble at the first bend and between bends three and four.
Race 7 Grade A1 Time 27.89 Support for Moyar Rambler, 5s to 4s, to beat the moderately drawn Watch Dave, backed at 6/4. Rambler showed his excellent early to lead at the second bend but was caught close to the line by Dave who had turned in third place, showed pace to the third bend and then ran on for another win.
Race 8 Grade A2 Time 28.19 Jacksaledge, 7/4 to 6/4, showed improved form last time and ran well to win again here. He was handy at the first bend, led at the second and had raced clear by the third. Jamestown Duke, backed late at 6/4, made his usual slow start and after running the bend well turned in third place. He was burned off by the third bend and finished fifth. Proud Darkie, 5s to 3s, missed the break and was crowded at the bend before finishing last.
Race 9 Grade A3 Time 28.08 Chase the Bond, 3s to 5/2, made a slow start before turning in fourth place. He made no real progress and suffered a slight nudge at the last bend before finishing fourth behind a most impressive winner.
Race 10 Grade A6 Time 28.92 Late money for Holt Mill Tommy, 8s to 5s, who made a poor start. He finished fourth in what was a messy sort of race run in a moderate time.
Race 11 Grade A1 Time 27.76 In what appeared to be a dodgy trap Bourne Legacy, 5/4 to 10/11, got out well and led on the run up on his way to a convincing win.

Today, sunny for BAGS. Bev has a three timer. Race 2 Grade A3 Time 28.20 Highview Pal, 3s to 5/2, showed excellent pace after trapping with the orange sheet to ride a crowd at the bend and lead. He was well clear by the third. Race 3 Grade A3 Time 28.60 Noirs Memory, 7/2 to 3s, trapped well and made all. She was fading near the line suggesting that there is more to come following her season. Race 4 Grade A2 Time 28.02 Once the white sheeted stayer flashed away from traps supporters of Up Granard, 5/2 to 2s, and Rusheen Mikey, 4s to 7/2, surely knew their fate. Granard led on the run up until the white sheet raced past at the second bend leaving the fav to make his way to the line in his own time and finish fourth. Mikey managed to turn third and showed nice pace to the third bend where he checked before keeping on well for second place. Race 6 Grade A6 Time 28.70 Berkshire Gold, 4s to 3s, turned in second place and had every chance before being relegated to fourth place on the run in. Race 7 Grade A2 Time 28.17 Clodiagh Nuts, 7/2 to 3s, whose currently for sale, trapped best and made all winning with some ease. Ballyhill Ruby, 5/2 to 2s, failed to make the spectacular start she made last time but still showed early and after a crowd at the first turned in second place a position she comfortably held to the line. Race 8 Grade A4 Time 28.60 Jorjen Jak, 9/4 to 2s, turned second dog following a crowd at the bend and finished second. Race 9 Grade A9 Time 29.25 A level break enabled Kersal Missy, 3s to 9/4, to quickly lead and build a winning advantage by the third bend. Rock It Kathy, 7/2 to 3s, turned in third place but looked a bit one paced to the third bend from which point she stayed on for second place. Race 10 Grade A8 Time 28.88 Backers of Dacent Amy, 4s to 7/2, must have felt quite pleased with themselves as she appeared to be likely to turn in second place on the race to the bend. That is until the realization dawned that the bitch she would turn second to was in fact the quick starting Lady Christina , 3s to 5/2. Lady made all and won comfortably. Amy, who in fact turned in third place, finished in that placing. Race 11 Grade A7 Time 28.82 Kersal Monet, 7/2 to 3s, fell out of traps and then checked at the bend. It was no surprise therefore to see her finish fifth. Race 12 Grade A5 Time 28.69 That's A Fact, 5/2 to 7/4, started slowly and after appearing to ease slightly at the second bend managed to turn in fourth place well behind the quick starting leader. Once the fav found his stride down the back he moved inside the second at the third bend and with around four to five lengths to make up produced a very strong finish which got him to within a sh of the winner when the line arrived.

A sunny day for BAGS. Bev has a three timer. No Office moves. Race 1 Grade A4 Time 28.50 If there was a Doziest Dog of the Month Award ( and why shouldn't there be, Capitano Roberto?) a leading contender this month would surely be Panama Rumble, 7/4 to 5/4. After a very slow start from the striped box he appeared to want to take a midde/widish course at the bend but changed his mind when almost about to enter said bend checking wide, taking a crowd and falling over. Race 2 Grade A7 Time 28.90 Rosario Girl, 11/4 to 5/2, was outboxed, enjoyed a solo at the second where she appeared to check slightly, turned in fourth place and stayed on to finish a respectful second to the winner. Race 3 Grade A6 Time 28.83 Kilkenny Henry, 3s to 5/2, trapped best and wanted the middle on the run to the corner from the black box. He was crowded back to fourth and, after being forced to check at the third, finished fourth. Race 6 Grade A6 Time 28.68 The red sheeted reserve, Tyrur Leydon, was supported from 7/2 to 3s, and, after a fairly level break found a yard of extra pace near the bend to lead and just hold on for victory. Race 7 Grade A5 Time 28.73 Robinho, backed at 5/2, trapped well and was handy at the bend. He turned a handy second and was denied victory by a sh. Derrane Slippy, 7/2 to 3s, finished last after failing to show his early for some reason. Race 10 Grade A3 Time 28.26 Romeo Gene, 7/2 to 3s, was crowded shortly after leaving traps but picked up enough momentum to turn second. He held that position to the fourth and finished a one paced fifth. Race 11 Grade A5 Time 28.83 Spinning Around, 9/2 to 3s, got away from traps well but was crowded back to fourth at the first bend. He quickened near the third bend and put in an unsuccessful challenge on the run in finishing second. Race 12 Grade A5 Time 28.80 Precious didn't get to see the effect of the market support on Droopys Ramires, 3s to 2s, the dog stumbled at traps. He missed some aggro at the bend and turned in fourth place. He finished in that position. Tick Tock Tony, 9/2 to 4s, made a poor start and was involved in the aggro between bends one and two and finished fifth. Race 13 Grade A2 Time 28.25 Little Babe, 7/2 to 5/2, again missed the break and failed to show her best early. As a result she was crowded back to fourth at the bend albeit a reasonably handy fourth going down the back until she was forced to check between bends three and four. She finished fourth. Race 14 Grade A2 Time 28.16 There was plenty of support for Rhoden Rio, 3s to 11/10, and his supporters must surely have been both shocked and delighted to see the dog get a level break for once . He took full advantage quickly leading and winning well.

Tonight, a poor Friday crowd. Jill lands a three timer.
Race 2 Grade A8 Time 28.98 Jakes Jewel, evens to 4/5, finished a green second after missing the break and turning in third place. Shes Phenomenal, backed at 3s, finished a black and blue last after being badly away and then checking wide at the first and getting a bump after showing decent early up.
Race 3 Grade A9 Time 29.36 Knockfinisk Suzi, 5s to 4s, was paceless to the bend and arrived there in last place. She failed to improve her placing at all.
Race 4 Grade A7 Time 28.75 Lisnakill Joanna, backed at 7/4, was another who showed little to the bend following a crowd at traps. She suffered a first bend crowd but was well beaten at the line in fifth place. There was persistent support for Tyrur Grey Goose, 8s to 5s, who finished third. She started slowly but managed to turn in second place and gave that position up when moving very wide at the fourth bend.
Race 5 Grade A3 Time 28.48 Ellaha Lodge, 6/4 to 4/5, was another who ran well below par following a slow start. She was crowded at the bend and turned in fourth place. She made no progress and finished fifth.
Race 6 Grade A2 Time 28.04 Rusheen Mikey, 5/4 to 11/10, ran a decent race to finish second to a winner on debut who showed eye opening early pace. Mikey was outboxed and found himself back in fifth place at the second bend before staying on well.
Race 7 Grade A6 Time 28.60 Last of the Line, 5s to 4s, was relatively slow away here but raced up well to secure third place after a slight jostle at the bend. He took a long time to shake off the second dog and only did so from the third bend from which point he kept on well to the line for second place.
Race 8 Grade A1 Time 28.17 Shoemakers Spink, 6s to 4s, turned in second place and comfortably held that position to the line. Cruising Belle, 7/2 to 3s, finished a moderate last. After missing the break she showed some promising early before failing to run the bend with conviction and by the second bend was back in fourth place. She made no progress and took a bump at the third bend.
Race 9 Grade S4 Time 36.30 The second favourite and winner got away early doors and soon had the field strung out which spelled doom for Mist Over Pendle, 6/4 to evens, who started slowly and turned in fourth place. She was making some progress at the third bend where she was bumped and then she was forced to check at the fourth bend. She finished a well beaten fourth
Race 10 Grade A5 Time 28.53 A strong running performance from Tudor Knight, 2s to 7/4, who came from fifth dog at the second bend to lead on the run in.
Race 11 Grade A4 Time 28.45 The trend of the impressive winners of the heats in the £500 competitions failing to win the Final continued thanks largely to the trap draw. Here Georgias Hawk, 5/4 to 11/10, the impressive winner last time, found himself in the stripes a position from which he has never boxed. To add insult to injury the dog in the orange sheet nearly always runs from the outside trap so once said dog boxed Hawk the favourite had a problem getting a run. Poor hawk took a bump at the second bend and finished fourth. Glin Hawk, 4s to 7/2, led the bend and once she had managed that then it was game over.
Race 12 Grade S1 Time 35.60 The ultra consistent Chesters Hawkeye, 7/4 to 6/4, had to settle for second place after the winner trapped best and soon led putting in a very creditable performance in going round in faster time than he has done to date. Having said all that Hawkeye surely did not put in his best effort here. He got out better than usual and turned in second place a position he held to the fourth bend but he then failed to produce that exhilarating burst of pace from the fourth to the fifth bends. He stayed on to finish second.

Tonight, a poor Friday crowd. I THINK IT WAS EXPECTED WHAT WITH HAYDOCK HOLDING AN EVENING MEETING..... IT COULD ALSO EFFECT THE SATURDAY ATTENDANCE AT THE ZOO WITH BOTH HAYDOCK AND CHESTER RACING IN THE AFTERNOON?

Race 2 Grade A8 Time 28.98 Jakes Jewel, evens to 4/5, finished a green second after missing the break and turning in third place. Shes Phenomenal, backed at 3s, finished a black and blue last after being badly away and then checking wide at the first and getting a bump after showing decent early up.
Precious as you have stated above Jakes Jewel did run rather 'green' last night.
But I feel if he runs next time out from trap six he will come on for last nights outing which was the first time he's been in a six dog race.
This young greyhound has had a lot of problems reaching the track and if things go his way from now on he will in my opinion win his fair share once the penny drops.

Tonight, Bev and Big John have three timers.
Race 1 Grade A9 Time 28.94 Tilly Mint, 9/2 to 4s, finished last following a slow start and a second bend crowd.
Race 2 Grade A8 Time 28.96 Samba Luna, 4s to 5/4, was crowded on the run up slightly but managed to turn in third place until the second bend arrived and made no progress from that point before being crowded at the third bend. She finished fourth.
Race 3 Grade S3 Time 35.73 Grandads Radar will no doubt have graduated to S1 after this performance. Backed from 3s to 2s, he made all winning easily.
Race 5 Grade A6 Time 29.00 Zulu Hondo, 11/4 to 6/4, does have ability but this is often overshadowed by a clumsy style of running which sees him find trouble. Here he missed the break, found trouble at the first and second bends before turning in fourth place. He stayed on late to finish third.
Race 6 Grade A4 Time 28.64 Jumeirah Banjo, 3s to 5/2, trapped best but didn't show too much early to the bend. However, he managed to come out of the second bend in third place and stayed on to the line finishing quite a close fourth.
Race 8 Grade A5 Time 28.37 In a race which looked a match punters went for Rhoden Flicker, 2s to 6/4, on the basis that she was the likely leader and her main rival would probably have to make his way past a few dogs to get to the front. Flicker trapped well and led until close to the line where she was passed by her main market rival who'd actually managed to turn a clear second to her.
Race 9 Grade A4 Time 28.79 Support for Liffey River, 5s to 11/4 who finished a well held third. After missing a break he switched to the rails on the run up coming into contact with the red sheet which probably cost him around a length. He certainly didn't show enough early to secure a prominent position and indeed turned in fourth place before keeping on well for third place.
Race 10 Grade S2 Time 35.99 Lady Legacy, 6/4 to 5/4, was crowded back to fifth by the second bend and was in fact last dog by the fourth bend. She did however run on late to snatch second place.
Race 11 Grade A1 Time 28.55 A bit of a rough house in the Main Event. Moyar Rambler, backed at 7/4, was the slowest at traps but was the quickest to the bend where he came into contact with the orange sheet when he tried to cut across and lead. The winner slipped through into the lead at his point and though Rambler made a game attempt to get past he had to settle for second place when the line arrived. Support for the Eric dog, 7/2 to 11/4, who was badly crowded at the bend after missing the break. He finished fifth.
Race 12 Grade A2 Time 28.24 A creditable effort for Sinatra Tim, 9/4 to 7/4, who ran on after making a poor start. He managed to turn in second place and looked the likely winner at one point but tonight was the night when the leader found a bit of time so Tim had to settle for second. Romeo Region, backed at 5/2, finished a well beaten fifth following what appeared a bit of a laboured effort. He secured thid place at the second following a slight first bend crowd but made no progress and was forced to check between bends three and four.

Today, the BAGS meeting was brought to a premature end when the hare suffered a break down during Race 9. Reports that the breakdown was the result of stress caused by the hare being chased by an increasing numbers of incorrectly drawn dogs were strenuously denied by the Racing Office. Do hares have a conscience? Race 2 Grade A5 Time 28.42 Sugar Loaf, 5/2 to 2s, finished a well beaten fourth after being crowded at traps and then very badly baulked at the second bend. Race 3 Grade A6 Time 28.65 The reserve, Cabela Maid, backed from 5/2 to 9/4, trapped fast and made all. Rusheen Flight, 5s to 7/2, made a poor start and then just has he'd built up a bit of momentum he veered off at the second bend losing ground and dropping back to fifth place. He stayed on to finish third. Race 4 Grade A3 Time 28.21 Datona Star, 9/2 to 11/4, made a poor start, missed the car crash at the first bend and turned in third place.....behind a stayer. She ran well to the third bend where she had secured second place but looked one pace on the run in and just held on for second at the line. Race 5 Grade A7 Time 28.65 Blacks Mineola, 11/4 to 5/2, ran much better than last week's modest effort. He did enjoy a solo round the first two bends before leading at the second and holding on comfortably to the line. Race 6 Grade A2 Time 28.11 Slippery Jimmy, 5s to 5/2, ran like a dog on a mission here showing assertiveness and pace in abundance. He was outboxed by the field before pacing to the bend nicely where he railed well shrugging off the adjacent orange sheet in the process. Turning second he made significant inroads into the lead of the fast starting stripes to challenge between bends three and four where he was slightly checked before taking a grip on the race at the last bend. Race 7 Grade A3 Time 28.75 The supporters of Somegametowin, 3s to 2s, must have been sweating throughout this event with their hero being back in fifth place at the second following a missed break and first bend crowd. He started staying on from halfway, secured a clear run between the last two bends, where victory seemed probable, but only managed to get up right on the line when several watchers thought he hadn't quite managed it. Race 8 Grade A8 Time 28.93 Sportsman Roy, 2s to 7/4, was never really competitive following a slow start. He turned in third place but was too well back to land a blow and finished third.

Was today's problem caused by a broken hare cable?
Because if it was then why did they not just replaced the cable and finish the meeting.
